Dad, what’s a muppet?

well, it’s not quite a mop, not quite a puppet, but man….to answer your question I have no idea
When I was your age I wanted an electric football game I wanted it so much I held my breath and hit my head on the coffee table the Dr said I might have brain damage.

What's the point of this story?

I like stories.

I was wrong!

It was Earth all along!

You've finally made a monkey...

(Yes, we've finally made a monkey!)

Yes, you've finally made a monkey out of me!

(Yes, we've finally made a monkey out of you!)
one time I was running a booth at a con, and we had a tape of some crap that ran about an hour
on that tape was that whole bit
by about hour five or so me and pals at the booth were mostly re-enacting the whole thing and singing along to make it as loud as possible because whatever nerd shit across the aisle complained

Abe: What the hell are you two doing!?
Barney: It's called rockin' out!
Homer: You wouldn't understand, dad. You're not with it.
Abe: I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it", and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you...

Looks at my playlist which includes nin, limp Bizkit, red hot chili peppers, Papa roach and is called "Woodstock 99 throwback"

I now know what grandpa meant and how homer felt. Ironically when that episode aired most of the bands on my list were " it." Now they've changed what "it" is yet again, only unlike grandpa "it" is not weird or scary to me at all...I just can't stand "it." *Sigh*

Hey at least your playlist isn't just vidya OST's and the occasional TV soundtrack. Out of all modern media I'd say music is the one that's hardest to keep up with as you get older.

What a day, eh, Milhouse? The sun is out, birds are singing, bees are trying to have sex with them - as is my understanding...

One other huge difference between funny Simpsons and zombie Simpsons was the depiction of Flanders - before he was a mamby-pamby weenie type of Christian (hence the dork sweater, and the 'damn Flanders' joke from Rev. Lovejoy), but once the shitty writers came on board, he became an intolerant fundie Christian that they hated.

I remember being mildly disturbed on how they killed Maude Flanders, I think that was the final jumping off point for me, I doubt I watched more than 1-2 more complete episodes after that. The show had nihilistic moments before, but the early seasons it still had heart (people pointing out the happy little elves and Shakespeare's chicken, the small details like that).

Thoughts?

While it does have alot of likes and while there are comments that agree, most of the top comments are disagreeing.

He doesn't say it in this video but this one instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIUg9Ojczww , but one thing that annoys me about him is that he mocks people who dont like zombie simpsons as people who quite watching for years and are somehow ignorant of current simpsons. It bothers me because most people I have seen complain about the later seasons don't like it because they watched not only zombie simpsons but the entire series.

A few examples: LS Mark's ranking of every episode, Dead Homer Dociety, the skullyfied simpsons series on that nebula blog, supereyepatchwolf, people who post here, the IMBD ratings. They all have shown to atleast watch a sizable amount of both The Simpsons and Zombie simpsons with some having watched all of them and have knowledge of what it is up to now.

One of the things that the comments say under the first video link is that he completely ignores the concept of flanderization and that alot of the things he says about its early years is what people like about it in the first place.

also earlier it was posted that Dead Homer Society is down but they are back, just under a generic wordpress domain and inactive: https://deadhomersociety.wordpress.com/

Hutz and McClure being retired from the show was the beginning of the end of the Simpsons I liked. Maude getting killed off finished it. After that, to me the show became what I called "crappingly new" (long before I heard the term "Zombie Simpsons").

In other words, new episodes stopped being enjoyable to me well before the movie.

Strong agree, I've said that before IRL, no Phil Hartman, no good. Lionel Hutz was one of my favorite characters on the show.
