Funny thing a few years after when burger king released a series of Simpsons talking watches one of them had a very similar line with the kids asking are we there yet? No! are we there yet? no!

Colonel Homer is worse than The Principal and the Pauper because in the latter's case there was only one, while the former spawned an insufferable sub-genre of Simpsons episodes where Homer has an ambiguous relationship with a woman that's not Marge which stops short of adultery, and no matter how often Homer proves faithful to Marge she always assumes he's cheating like the last dozen times this happened haven't occurred.

Matter of fact, at least a fifth of all total Simpsons episodes can be broken down into rehashes of earlier stories that were only okay episodes on their own. Another one is the 'Bart meets girl' sub-genre.

I'm on Season 3 Ep. 22, really surprising seeing resident butt-monkey Milhouse with a girlfriend, and the romance being mutual.

I haven't watched the Zombie Simpsons recently but just by recalling one recent episode from memory, I believe it's the one where they go to Holland, it felt entirely like the whole episode was written by an AI that was fed old Simpsons episodes and told to make new ones through machine learning, they're all disjointed and directionless but always manage to repeat plot points from old episodes that peter out & resolve in the next minute like a race to complete it as efficiently as possible, as if all the scripts of the golden years were shoved into a Magic Bullet and blended into an inky paste.

‘I really do apologise’: Hank Azaria talks stepping away from Apu role on The Simpsons
‘Part of me feels like I need to go to every single Indian person in this country and personally apologise’
The Simpsons actor Hank Azaria apologises for his part in 'structural racism' by voicing Apu in the show

lol you only stopped playing apu because you wanted to have less voice roles in the show, and the racism controversy thing was the perfect opportunity to do so

Part of me will laugh if they just ask Hari to do the voice since he was the one to first bitch about it.

So I've been rewatching Season 1 of The Simpsons, and I'm amazed because its much better than I remembered it being.

The animation is very crude and there are obvious kinks that they are working out, but the genius writing and sly humor that would evolve into top form by the mid 90s was definitely there in that first season.

I remember hating some of the Season 1 episodes (Like Homer's Odyssey) but I thought much higher of them on the rewatch. Life on the Fast Lane in particular really impressed me with how funny and dramatic it was.

But indians really talk like that...

The Status Quo must be restored after every episode. What has really changed between characters over all the years except Maude Flanders dying?

Every single Indian person I’ve seen (save that one mincing little faggot who started it all) has said they liked Apu and were able to laugh at him, appreciating that it’s just jokes and not meant as an academic dissertation of Indian culture. They’re quickly shut down by all the college aged soyboys and dangerhairs who are the only ones actually whining about this.

Azaria is fucking pathetic bending the knee to these losers

Hell apu is a successful business owner, a skilled carpenter, a great cook, a father and husband, a volunteer firefighter, and is one of the few characters on the show to NOT be Total buffoon.

Ijust look up any compliaton of apu moments on YouTube K Cam assure you that the comments are full of "I'm Indian and o always found apu hilarious. "
