https://youtube.com/watch?v=8yol9Slw-PgFor reference, this is from a season 13 episode that aired in 2002, almost two decades ago.
When they said "they'll never stop The Simpsons", they weren't kidding. :(
So kinda an old post but

Uk what's funny? That episode Gump roast was the last clip show ep the show ever produced. Despite being against them vehemently (the first clip show ep even mocked the convention) the show had to produce them every couple of seasons to save money on a tight budget,

The only reason they stopped is even by 2002 the show was rerun so much and they started putting it on DVD season by season. There was no reason to catch the veiwers up the shows highlights via clip shows anymore.

I honestly think Gump Roast was meant as a send-off to the whole clip show concept and the writers made it knowing full well that it would be the last one they'd ever have to do.

Pretty much all the clip shows except the second one were in some way self-aware.

And now, we look on thse clip shows as masterpieces compared to the recent zombie Simpsons episodes. :story:

I'll be honest, I've been feeling nostalgic again for the old Episode Capsules on The Simpsons Archive. Part of me wonders how the SNPP crew would react to the hi-definition "Zombie Simpsons" seasons of the post-movie era.

If Silver Age episodes from Seasons 9-12 were enough to give them autistic meltdowns, I shudder to think how they'd react to the past decade or so of the show.

The cultural paradigm that The Simpsons emerged under more or less died with the Great Recession and the rise of Obama at the absolute latest.

It's sad but true and the only reason the show still limps along is due to a mix of Fox not knowing what to fill the void with for Sunday nights an Al Jean got butthurt over strangers on the internet nearly two and a half decades ago. Disney taking control of the franchise will only make things worse.

Archive of Rihanna video:

When Marge is shouting to her at the end she unironically sounds like Patty/Selma /lukewarmtake.

Have Sneed's Feed and Seed killed.
"What a city slicker you are. We are Sneed, how can you kill a Sneed? What a fuck and sucking innocence. How could you be so naive? There is no fancy german sports car with which to escape in. No park avenue manicure can work in this place. Come, lay down your gucci loafers, it is not too late to plant some gummi bears."

The Chucking begins, with who's gonna Sneed
Knowing that feeding goes with seed!
Aboard the farm, a farmer at heart
Wanting to send back all the city slickers!

We are the Sneed man, formerly Chuck!
We are the Sneed man, we're gonna suck and fuck!

Oh oh: ya see, the kids, they listen to the rap music which gives them the brain damage. With their hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin', so they don't know what the jazz... is all about! Ya see, jazz is like the Jello Pudding Pop - no, actually, it's more like Kodak film - no, actually, jazz is like the New Coke: it'll be around forever, heh heh heh...
