Springfield just isn't the same without it's resident washed up celebrity fishfucker and incompetent shyster lawyer.
+1, I agree, Lionel Hutz was a better incompetent lawyer than Gil Gunderson.

FTFYLionel Hutz didn't die he's just on the run as renegade babysitter Dr. Nguyen Van Phuoc.
Yeah, it was really a shame when he died and probably one of the biggest turning points in the decline. Even more so since the guy who basically had to fill in as the "Auxiliary Fourth Male Actor", Karl Weidergott never got any major reoccurring roles outside of Bill Clinton. Hell, I'm convinced half the time he only got credited because it was in his contract and never used him on the episode. Even his successor, Chris Edgerly, got more respect, lines and characters in comparison. Doesn't help that unlike Chris or Phil, Karl's voice is easy to confuse with the main actors half the time.I was reading about the death of Phil Hartman and whenever i see him on the show i get really sad. What a terrible loss to the world.
Hutz is just so chipper and cheerful. The guy will bounce into court 100% confident he's gonna win the case no matter how unprepared he is and only halfway through realize how screwed he is. Even when going up against a judge who he+1, I agree, Lionel Hutz was a better incompetent lawyer than Gil Gunderson.
Except that one time the blue haired lawyer was so confident he felt he could waste court time having the jury rate celebrities. The guy will bounce into court 100% confident he's gonna win [...]
Oops, shouldn't have this bar association logo either!Works on contingency? No, money down!
That's the second saddest thing to ever happen on December 7thSince we're on the subject of Phil Hartman, I might as well post clips of his characters' final speaking appearances (albeit, not necessarily the last pieces of dialogue these characters spoke)

They have had characters say damn and crap. And I think Homer got away with saying Penis once. I don't know if they actually said bitch on the show before this though.I don't know if they already passed this particular line but (sorry for the poor quality but it was the only video i found of it) but Zombie Simpsons did it

I remember Grandpa Simpson saying it.I don't know if they actually said bitch on the show before this though.
Oh yeah, I remember that.I remember Grandpa Simpson saying it.

Only other one I can remember off top of my head is Marge in that second RC Couch Gag, but even then I doubt the could get Julie to swear and just had her say something else and bleep it out.

Homer said 'bastard' in one of the Halloween episodes and Burns called U2 wankers.
So, from what I'm reading from this chart, the majority of episodes between Seasons 1-9 were largely "green", save for the scattered "yellow" episodes and the two "red" episodes in Seasons 6 and 9. And then starting with Season 10, there came to be more "yellow" episodes than "green" episodes, with "red" episodes becoming increasingly common after that season. Eventually, "red" episodes become the majority for later seasons, with few "yellow" episodes and some of them being lucky to even have a "green" episode at all. That's seem accurate.
My first thought went to "bastard" as Bart says it many times when they go to visit unky Herb for the first time. Looks they used it occasionally, along with wanker, and pissYeah they have Skinner say Son of a Bitch, did they ever have a character outright swear?
