Her voice has gone to shit in more recent years, yes. To the point where it's actually very grating. I personally cannot stand how Marge sound in any recent clip I've seen of the show.

Exactly, she sounds more like a cranky old lady when she's characterized as a healthy suburban mother in her 40s.

Listening to her now makes my body cringe.

It's kind of sad because there are ways to do those growly voices for decades without harming your vocal cords (just look at death metal singers; a lot of them have to practice to not make their singing utterly destroy their voices), and it's obvious Kavner didn't do any of them.

And it's not like she was singing metal for 30 years she was just voicing a suburban housewife two lonely Spencer's and acoassionaly their mother. Ironically the voice for Jackie Bouvier was just an act it's slowly becoming her actual voice now

Well if you went to Twitter, they were treating her like she's the only sane woman keeping the entire family together especially to clean the mess of the men in the house. I know since all the idiots who use twitter kept trying to lionize her after she was compared unfavorably to Kamala.
