Dunno if its been posted before, but a fucktunne of deleted scene footage from seasons 5-9 are now on youtube
It aint exactly A material, the animation may be often unfinished, and sometimes they have lisa's VA voice marges lines, but this may well be the final ember of old simpsons that some folks here have yet to see, and may well provide a couple of laughs and some bittersweet nostalgia for an age long gone

Hell, I remember seeing the Cartridge Family for the first time when it debuted and wondering what the big deal was with Homer owning a gun, when I personally recalled the $pringfield episode with Burns' Casino when Homer uses a shotgun to protect the kids from the Boogey Man.

Or, possibly, Boogey men

I ran across some of these. Some of them are pretty damn funny. My personal favorite was the deleted scene from Itchy and Scratchy Land where Homer is licking some kid's Popsicle.

Lttp but I'm trying to exploit all I can from this Disney plus free trial thing but the Simpsons look like ass wtf.

It's zoomed in but they clearly knew things are cut out because the TV scenes are still 4:3 but the worse is they either got the saturation too high or they attempted to give it the "HD clean up" but after awhile I feel kind of sick.

Exactly. I recall 13-year old me seeing The Cartridge Family and thinking to myself, "Uhhhh, hasn't Homer owned rifles and shotguns in older episodes?"
Honestly I justify it to myself that Marge didn't want Homer owning a handgun specifically because it's a weapon he can easily and legally carry in public without attracting too much attention to himself, increasing his liklihood of having a Homer version of a Nigga Moment and getting in trouble or killed. Homer is irresponsible enough with his shotguns and rifles, and just look how he treated his handgun. He used it as a fucking remote control, ffs! Opening a beer with it, sure why not if you're out hunting and bored as fuck, but in your living room? He treated it like a toy because he had constant access to it and wanted excuses to use it.

And then Marge took it. And we've never seen it since because, as a responsible gun owner AND former police officer, Marge keeps that shit locked up.

And now I'm officially done autistically analyzing and rationalizing the inconsistencies in episodes of a fucking comedy cartoon show. for now.

Immediately downloading these in case the Mouse pulls them. The best new Simpsons content in 20 years.

I think the funniest gag was the parody of Rose Kennedy at the Quimby party. Immediately after seeing that deleted clip I watched that segment over and over and it's still funny.

I'll admit that this gag kinda shocked me at first, because I misinterpreted it. They introduced her as "Daisy", and I assumed it was supposed to be JFK's sister Rosemary who was given a frontal lobotomy in her youth and spent the remainder of her life as a vegetable. Instead, Daisy is supposed to be JFK's mom who suffered a stroke and had a wheelchair.

"Yes, the Simpsons have come a long way since an old drunk made humans out of his rabbit characters to pay off his gambling debts. Who knows what adventures they'll have between now and the time the show becomes unprofitable?"

Have they made Marge a robot? Did Moe get a cellphone?

Love seeing these! I wish someone found a full version of the original pilot to the series instead of the same 5 minutes we've only ever saw!

Matt drew up the Simpsons in like five minutes because he was going to a pitch meeting to turn his comic life in hell into a show when he realized, "oh crap if I sell them my strip, I lose all rights to it. " he wasn't stupid. He knew the big studios could and would screw him over if he handed his passion project over to them. Matt has never had any genuine love for the Simpsons, he's always seen then as a means to an end

This is true. Prior to The Simpsons, he had a successful cult comic strip called Life in Hell, and he was interested in adapting it into a cartoon. He realized that if he sold the rights to it, the studios would butcher his passion project, so at the last minute he scrambled and came up with a generic American family idea with the characters inspired by his real life relatives, and the setting based off his hometown. His reasoning was that if the studio butchered it, it wouldn't be as catastrophic since the premise was pretty generic and bland compared to his original Life in Hell series.

Fun fact: Matt Groening's real life sister Lisa (who Lisa Simpson is based off) who was married to the creator of Nickelodeon's Hey Arnold! series.

Originally Marge was actually supposed to have rabbit ears under her hair as a callback to Life in Hell, which can actually be seen in several bits of media at the time like The Simpsons arcade game.

They eventually scrapped it, but I wish they hadn't. The implications were delicious. This is Marge's private custom tailored Hell. Her life as Marge Simpson is a punishment for past sins.
