There's millions of stereotypes, the nerds on Big Bang Theory were stereotypes, did anyone take great offense at that?

I saw more than one person complain about them as being 'nerdface', but they were straight white men being dumbasses so they were ignored.

Apu may be a stereotype, but he was never a character one was supposed to hate, in fact audiences grew to really like him.

Actual Indians, not Indian-Americans insecure about their heritage, love Apu. Like how Mexicans love Speedy Gonzalez.

What's stupid about this is people used to get angry over "offensive" stereotypes, not just a stereotype period, but one that actively portrayed someone in a negative light.

Here's what people have forgotten, take a deep breath and repeat after me, a stereotype in of itself is not an inherently offensive thing.

SJWs lack all sense of nuance and perspective.

It's pretty well known that the only stereotypes that are considered to be problematic are ones involving non white/christian groups, unless the stereotypes are done by members of said group.

I think the best example is finding a genuinely good male Slav character in western media (that is not a comic relief) due to russian accent.

Didn't Hank Azaria run around in a turban as "The Blue Raja" in Mystery Men? Maybe Hank likes to play on stereotypes of Indians. Maybe the problem isn't Apu, but Hank?

The Blue Raja was English. And yes he wasn't wearing much blue but if you know your history it actually all makes sense.

This time of year I always like to watch "Sunday Cruddy Sunday". Yea it was a celebrity episode (Super Bowl), and the show was certainly past its prime, but it still managed to be funny and the main characters were still the main characters.

the only time I really couldn't stand peggy was when she got mad about bobby learning to cook, ruined their entire thanksgiving, ran away in the craziest way possible, then hank was lectured by her hairdresser and she got her way in the end.

I think it's because she's the one who preaches a lot, even though the show makes it a point that she's wrong a good amount of the time. Yet people seem to forget that.

The funniest thing about this is Hari not wanting Apu removed despite making a big stink about the character.

I think he walked his position back slightly after millions of people told the street shitter to get fucked because they liked Apu. In the end he wanted to endlessly bitch about Apu being problematic so that he could grift millions on the woke speaking circuit. At least the decision fucks the whiny faggot on that end.
