Took nudes of his then elementary school age nephew and a whole lot of other strange shit. I don't have enough 100% proof for a thread, so no thread.

What proof can you share besides hearsay? I've heard this story before, and would like to know more, but nobody can ever produce any evidence besides "well, my father's brother's cousin's nephew's former roommate said so, so it MUST be true!"

Agreed. Until I see evidence or the kid comes forward, I'm not inclined to take it seriously. Wouldn't surprise me if it was 100% made up. Probably by John K as an act of revenge for Billy refusing to seppuku his career for John's asinine martyr complex.

I was feeling masochist today so I watched all Trump's shorts. Jesus Christ my cringe levels exploded, I can't even think that human screenwriters decided to create this. Is one thing to laugh at Trump, with witty jokes and as some other poster said, some Epstein commentary would have been great in the short with the squad, but we already know why he wasn't mentioned. However, if your Trump jokes are even hated by the screeching masses of the resistance then they are shit.
I remember watching the Simpsons since I was 3, it was broadcasted on meal time, and no home in my country didn't have the Simpsons at lunch, it became a tradition to watch it while eating for years. The channel that has the rights put the episodes of the golden age until the 2010s, then they started to put the mediocre and finally the awful ones. But, we even know that nu-Simpsons are shit, we don't even have dubbed seasons 20 lateish onwards (I think it is past the 26th season) They were, and still are, a cultural phenomenon, but only with the golden seasons.

Just imagine what if some guys decide to do a Simpson fan film posted on Youtube who do Epstein jokes just to trigger Matt Groening and the writers. :smug:

And the "West Wing Story" had reached 50k dislikes. http://archive.fo/r3C3B

There's one Youtuber who posted a comment who could fit the golden seasons of the Simpsons.

I'm no Mozart, but I think some of the lyrics in this were written by middle school drop out.

The West Wing Story thing reminded me of something the Simpsons did years ago when they were making fun of wartime propaganda.

Same sort of deal. Mock the enemy while shilling for the hero. It's exactly a modern version of that.

Edit: In this subtext, enemy and hero is subjective.

What about the wartime short Nazi Supermen Are Our Superiors?

I guess they shill for this "hero" I presume? :story:

Here's an interesting question for you.

Is there any way the Simpsons could have stayed consistently good for 30 years? Did it have to go to shit? Was it just a question of keeping or finding the right talent?

Or was it doomed to eventually lose it's luster after so long no matter what?

It's incredibly difficult for any show to maintain quality for a long period of time. It's just that most shows have the advantage of ending while they're still beloved. The Simpsons is way past that point, to where it hasn't been good in literal decades. I don't see it realistically maintaining the same quality it had in the 90s after 30 years. Some shows, like Seinfeld, are smart enough to end it just when they start going downhill. The Simpsons made the fatal mistake of not doing that.

There are other shows that are going through something similar, like Family Guy. The difference is they haven't been on nearly as long.

I think with how so ingrained in 90s culture that it was, I'd say it was pretty much doomed to fail by the turn of the millennium. The fact it's been bad for longer than it has been good pretty much sums it up without too much explanation.

South park which is a lot older than it feels has had some sucess in quality, in that the fluctuations are far less dramatic. But this is largely a byproduct of it's willingness to be topical, confrontational and having the same writters for decades.
Simpsons for example would never explore WHY trump got elected for example.

It goes on until it is no longer profitable.

Who needs the new seasons anyway? There is enough Simpsons golden age nostalgia media to last us a lifetime.

You inspired me to make this just now, actually.

If they had quit when they were on top, they'd be remembered as the funniest show in TV history.
Instead, we now have an entire generation that has grown up with only Zombie Simpsons. I can't really blame those kids for hating the show.

Eh, I'd say the rot truly set in a little while into the 2000's, especially since 2000 and the first half of 2001 might as well be a direct continuation of the 90's culture that The Simpsons tapped into so perfectly.

I actually kind of like the Mike Scully seasons (Seasons 9-12) and even Al Jean's first two seasons were good.

Don't get me wrong, Seasons 1-8 were quintessentially the "Golden Age", but I'd wager Seasons 9-13 were a "Silver Age" of sorts. If they ended it at Season 13, they would have gone out on top for the most part.

Hell, Seasons 14-16 had a few good episodes in there too, but that was when you could start to see the decline truly begin and everything after the movie was pure garbage. The Simpsons Movie itself was okay, but that should have been the absolute latest possible time to have ended the show without Zombie Simpsons completely taking over.

King of the Hill had a good run at thirteen seasons, and while the last few seasons weren't as good as the first nine or so seasons, a lot of that was related to FOX executives screwing around with the show's writers. The last two seasons of KOTH were basically greenlit at the absolute last second and put the writers in a tight spot, which is why those seasons are considered the weakest. But even the weaker late seasons of King of the Hill are a lot better than Zombie Simpsons or Family Guy.

The Simpsons is always being greenlit by FOX because of merchandising and Al Jean refusing to step down as the main showrunner or listen to any legit criticisms of the show.
