I don't mind that Mr. Largo was revealed to be gay some time ago since I don't think he was ever written as straight but it seems like they're now really emphasizing his gayness, turning up the gay affectations in his voice to 11.
 
As usual, a sucky episode. A no-spoiler recap.

  • Mr. Largo's is given time to shine in the first act of the episode to develop his character, where it then switches to Lisa. Opportunity lost.
  • J.K. Simmons is best part, but he's given no good lines.
  • It's Lisa's Pony 2.0.
  • It's also a Whiplash parody.
  • They do a much inferior Shining parody with Homer delusional at work hallucinating a bar sequence.
  • Every Simpson except Homer and Grandpa sound really fucking bad.
  • Mr. Burns is a wimp.
Yeah, this episode gives me nothing to talk about.

Dan's literally the only still capable of doing his roles. Everyone else is either old as shit, getting tired of voicing their roles, or both.

Also, can't say I'm surprised Nancy's episode sucks. No one is safe from the curse it seems.

On the one hand, I believe that's one of the only sequences that The Simpsons didn't already parody in The Shinning. On the other hand, The Shinning was an excellent parody anyway, so this is just needlessly retrodding old ground and showing that the show has no new ideas.
