"Keep cool, Simpson. Be IN the game, but not OF the game."

"NO ES BUENO"

The whole Michael Jackson episode business prompted me to finally purchase the Season 3 Box Set and it just arrived in the mail. To paraphrase the trans crowd: "Stark Raving Dad will not be erased"
Apparently the episode also featured a reference to the Korean boy band BTS so now there's a bunch of "Any armys here xd" in the comments section

I really can't relate to Lisa in any way at all anymore. She just has to travel halfway across the world to draw pictures in salt and erase it like an Etch-A-Sketch? She not only doesn't act like a kid anymore, she doesn't act like a real person.

I'll be skipping next week, just like I skipped the Lena Dunham one and the Lady Gaga one. Why subject myself to something I know I'll hate?

Remember when Lisa wasn’t always infallible?

You can't relate to anyone anymore on that show. They've all been neutered or FLANDERized. Homer is now a self-aware asshole, Marge is a passive whiner, Bart is a wimpified prankster, Lisa is a far-left shithead, Maggie is...there, more often, Grandpa is a space occupier, FLANDUHS is an overly religious cunt, Mr. Burns is an out-of-touch old man, Smithers is gay as fuck, Skinner is a cuck, Chalmers is Skinner's butt buddy, Moe is a suicidal jackass, Lenny and Carl are gay, Barney is not really there anymore, Krabappel is dead, Apu is "waycist", even though the bullies haven't devolved, no one can relate to a sympathetic bully.

I feel like the only character you could relate to nowadays is Ms. Hoover. All the teachers out there relate to that bitch.

If Bumblebee Man's days are numbered, I shouldn't be surprised.

Is he even in the show anymore?

On the subject of Lisa, to show how far Lisa fell, there was an episode in Season 25 called The Kid Is All Right where the conflict was that Lisa's new friend was on the opposite political spectrum as her.

FUR REALZIES, MY NIGGUHZ.

To be fair that episode while shit ended with Lisa realizing friendship was more valuable than being right all the time and her deciding to preserve their friendship despite the other girl being a conservative. If the episode was made today Lisa would call her a Nazi and deplatform her.

True, but still, my man. What kind of young kids care about politics? How does this conflict in any way stay integral to the base of the show's characters?

Also, to throw it out there, the episode was written by Tim Long, who has a bad case of TDS in some instances, so of course, he 'd write an episode where it's about Lisa fearing a friendship with a Republican. Look at that Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/mrtimlong?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author

You know, maybe giving Lisa a steady friend would help her character out more and explore some new aspects to her character. There was a time Todd (the younger of Flanders' kids) wanted to hang out with her so why not have them be friends for more than one episode? Homer would definitely have plenty to say about it.

That actually sounds somewhat okay, and it's a lesson people actually need to hear these days. Still sounds like it has the problem of Lisa not acting anything like a kid anymore, though.

The thing is Lisa already had a fucking friend.

Janey.
