It just comes off out of nowhere but apparently the recent documentary is to blame for this.

The thing is that these allegations have existed for fucking years. It's plain unnecessary to erase it from the archive because of Finding Neverland, a documentary exploring the possible allegations of a man who is fucking dead.

It's just like Gravity Falls, erasing Louis C.K. from Weirdmageddon. Unnecessary.

It all is. Also the fact this episode was made nearly 30 years ago negates all this, but apparently someone got their way.

Here's an article that you don't have to pay for: https://mashable.com/article/the-simpsons-michael-jackson-episode-pulled/#uPrzd107EZqR

I don't know if Michael Jackson actually did what he's been accused of, and it's not like he can defend himself now. If the allegations are ever proven true without a shadow of a doubt, I know I wouldn't be able to look at this episode or other things involving Jackson the same way, but they are just accusations and with the guy being dead we're probably never going to know the truth. I don't really agree with pulling the episode when nothing's certain, but I can understand why they'd want to stay out of the controversy. Then again, it's a really old episode and no one should care that much.

I'm not sure why Season 10 is grouped as "the last good season". There were a lot of shitty episodes in that season. There was the episode where Homer fucks over Lisa by making a deal with a company to put cable wiring in her room and keeps constantly interrupting Lisa to the point of her getting sick, Homer gets scared of a kidney transplant and almost fucks over his whole family, there was the episode where Burns gets neutered into a scared old man, and the episode where Homer and Flanders married strippers only for the marriage conflict to only be solved in the first solo Al Jean produced episode, in an already shit episode that didn't have enough time to finish the plot, so they had to drop that conflict within that episode. Am I missing something?
I'm pretty biased towards season 10 since that was the first "older" season I immediately went to. I started watching the show really late into its life (I started not long after the movie). When the show started to really suck for me (remember, my standards were really different because I had no frame of reference for the older episodes), I began trying to find "older" episodes. When I first watched season 10, I legit thought it was some of the funniest television I had ever seen at that time. Some of the episodes I still get a kick out of, like the one where Homer becomes a truck driver or the one where they go to Japan.

Granted, I haven't seen much of season 10 since I started going further back into the show's life, so I'm not so sure I'd have the same opinions if I were to watch it now, but season 10 holds quite a bit of nostalgia for me.

Fuck me, that’s one of my favorite Golden Era episodes.
Had my favorite moment when Marge tries to call the place and is put in hold and they play "Crazy" over the phone! This gag was used several times in season three whenever they had them on the phone and something ironically appropriate plays while on hold!

You just know the Season Three DVD Box will soar price-wise because of this.

Fuck the Jewsons producers, they are doing this for the money, I'd rather just download the DVD ISOs, burn them onto a DVD and print the box art, to make my own repros.

An episode of “The Simpsons” that features the voice of Michael Jackson will be removed from circulation — less than a week after the release of a documentary that exposes the singer’s alleged pedophilia, according to a report.
James L. Brooks, a ‘Simpsons’ executive producer, told The Wall Street Journal that he and two other creators of the show decided to pull the episode after watching the “Leaving Neverland” on HBO.
“The documentary gave evidence of monstrous behavior,” Brooks told the newspaper.
“The guys I work with—where we spend our lives arguing over jokes—were of one mind on this. It feels clearly the only choice to make.”

"Your game shows reward knowledge...ours punish ignorance."
There were still the occasional good gags in season 10 but it was the clear decline.

I remember reading back then that season 10 was when some people thought the series was starting to go downhill, and I was impressed because I thought season 10 was so funny, and to me that meant the older seasons were even funnier. I didn't focus on season 10 not being as good as the series in its prime because it was still a hell of a lot funnier than where the series was at when I stopped watching current episodes (which was around season 23).
