This new episode sounds like even more proof that this show should just die. Also, who wants to bet that some journalism outlet, like AV Club, is gonna praise the episode for "taking down muh toxic masculinity"?

After I read your post, I jumped over to the AV Club review of the latest episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (the one about #metoo that somehow ended up being more heavy handed than the episode about racial profiling) and was relieved to see only three comments after the article. Site traffic must have cratered. Good riddance.

Still waiting for BNN's head writer to come out as a serial rapist.

That's only "staff"; there are 74 total (approved) comments. So it's not quite dead, but still, it feels deader than its heyday in the late 00's/early 10's.

I tortured myself by watching last night's Simpsons episode.

Pretty unfunny, I gotta say. It was about Homer using Comic Book Guy's car in a joyride and Homer trying to get out of a prison sentence by making a video of showing how much of a good person he is ("a mitigation video"), but Comic Book Guy wants respect. So they do ANYTHING to con the fatass into status quo.

I would have liked it better if Homer went to jail (preferably for the rest of the season, if not series) and he and CBG never got to "rekindle", but no, can't have that now can we?

I just want to throw a chair through my TV screen whenever the show keeps trotting out that wife of CBG,
First of all, no woman would ever marry a smug, fat loser like him. Second, it totally ruins his character.
I keep hoping that the show forgets about it like that Chinese baby either Patty or Selma adopted (another character-ruining action taken.)

Then how does this happen?:

Well they're halfway there- She barely appears and hasn't spoken since her debut. Now if only they just dropped her entirely.

I dunno, he is a local business owner who has kept his shop running over many years despite how hard the comic books biz is. Arguable he is less pathetic than some other real-life smug and/or fat men who have somehow gotten women to sleep with or even marry them.

I know a couple of real-life Comic Book Guys, and his wife is pretty much spot-on to their wives.

Didn't Comic Book Guy fuck Skinner's mom at one point?

What I really find charming about this game is that it's all based merely on Season 1 of The Simpsons. If it had been made even a year later it would have had totally different enemies and bosses. Konami had such little content to design a video game after that they even just threw in Life In Hell characters just for the hell of it.

Also I love that Smithers is robbing a Jewelry Store for Mr. Burns when Burns could easily buy anything from that store, and that he wouldn't just take the diamond from Maggie and give her back to the family.. Lovably silly plot.

The first Simpsons pinball machine was the same way. Everything relied on that first season in terms of setting/gameplay.

EDIT: Edited for picture!

When was the last time Homer ever had a taste for Pork Rinds?
