I was informed today, in which I was helping someone clean her garage, that every time I moved the grill, I would mutter under my breath “le grill? What the hell is that?”

A "The Night of the Hunter" THOH episode with Sideshow Bob as Harry Powell and Bart and Lisa as the two kids seems like it writes itself but whatever. For fuck's sake, you already had a Cape Fear episode!

I think you'll like my analyis on the King Kong spoof from Treehouse of Horror. One of those posts I'm actually proud of.
I once heard someone say "You can't parody something you don't love" and I think that's really true. When NuSimpsons parodies something it's done out of obligation. Whereas when the old Simpsons referenced something it was out of a source of admiration.

a reference is fine, but you need to still have jokes in your jokes
