I kinda like that one :(
yeah it's a dumb cartoony one but it had a lot of dumb cartoon bits me and my crew liked in the day
and I think we really hit clownworld stride when Ukraine's twitter posted that gif of the soviet union from the simpsons that time they got invaded under Obeme

I still go to bat for the mike scully years as being a funny show. is it what i want out of classic simpsons? no, not even close but if it debuted as different show i would still like it just as much. a bit like how i can enjoy seasons 4-8 of family guy even tho by that point they dont resemble pre-cancellation family guy at all

To find Flanders, I just have to think like Flanders.

I'm a big four-eyed lame-o, and I wear the same stupid sweater every day, and-

THE SPRINGFIELD RIVER!

In my case, I honestly remember I gradually "grew out" of watching The Simpsons sometime during the late '90s, it just wasn't appealing to me. Looks like it was during the tail end of the "good years" of the show.

Same for me.

Speaking of which, I had to notice this Disney property show up in an episode...

What are people's thoughts on the "Behind the Laughter"? It tends to get viewed as sort of a series ender but honestly I really hate it. To much screen pulling that I didn't like and the jokes were either a polite heh to falling flat.

I never liked that episode aside from the gag where Lisa reveals she was given anti-aging pills.

It's not funny, but better that they'd stopped then.

I just remember it for the joke where they make fun of the early animation by using kids' drawings. According to the commentary, the animators at the time got quite triggered by that one.

Remember that episode where Comic Book Guy marries a Japanese woman? Well, there’s a scene where Homer and the woman’s father (who disapproves of the engagement) walk through Springfield and the things in the town becomes references to Miyazaki movies.
(I couldn’t get a PreserveTube archive because the site hacked my phone).

I think it works as an ending for where the show had gotten.

Smithers: I've got to find a replacement that won't outshine me.
Perhaps if I searched the employee evaluations for the word
[types] "Incompetent"...
[computer reports: 714 matches found]
714 names? Better be more specific. [keeps typing] "lazy",
"clumsy", "dim-witted", "monstrously ugly"
[computer searches, then reports: 714 matches found]
Oh, nuts to this! I'll just go get Homer Simpson.

flipped on a random stream and it was on the one about Krusty's father
