Starting watching this again from the start recently. To me there are three eras.

Seasons 1-9: Classic Simpsons
Seasons 10-18: Post peak Simpsons
Season 19 onwards: Zombie Simpsons

Alright. I watched the latest Treehouse of Horror episode so you guys don't have to. Boy, have the mighty have fallen. I know I sound like a broken record because the Simpsons had already jumped the shark and the series is akin to beating a dead horse. However, I haven't really watched the latest episodes so I didn't exactly expect the new episodes to be this bad.
I have been catching up with the latest episodes and I can't understand why so many are praising it. Characters as such as Mr. Burns. Mayor Quimby and Chief Wiggum act nothing like who they once were, nonsensical moments like every type of guard and policing force known to america going to war at eachother for no reason and giving it amn unsubtle political angle with Homer saying terms like "Wokester" and "SJW" and having those patriotic Q stickers be on his laptop
Watched a shitty Vice documentary on The Simpsons and it pretty much sums up why the The Simpsons suck so much now. I don't recommend it repeats the same shit over and over and is woke.
what woke points do they make and how does it sum up why it sucks now?

I'd say that The Simpsons is seasons 1 to 11:
Seasons 1-3: The foundational golden years
Seasons 4-6: The peak golden years
Seasons 7-8: The experimental seasons of the decline
Season 9: The turning point in the decline
Season 10-11: The collapsse
Seasons 12-16: The early Zombie years
Seasons 17-20: The movie years
Seasons 21-26: early HD era
seasons 27-30: the peak of it's deterioration
Seasons 31-35: The Disney era

As usual they strike when it's hot! Eagerly looking forward to more takes on topical subjects like the retro-swing music craze, Beanie Babies, and cigar bars.
One of my earliest memories of the simpsons was seeing a random cut away gag to a Veggietales parody in 2004, long after that series had lost any pop culture significance. I know traditional animation takes 9 months, but even back then this show was lumbering along at turtle speed on the hot takes. I've seen a few /co/cksuckers try to deflect the criticism by saying the writers are too busy paying attention to more relevant subjects, but after 30+ years we all know that's a filthy lie and an even filthier cope.

I think Carl is actually closer to the original voice than Mr. Burns at this point. If you didn't know why he replaced Hank Azaria, you could even say the new guy is doing a decent job.

So the long-running gag of Homer strangling Bart is seemingly being retired from the show, at least according to this recent episode (Season 35, Episode 3) with Homer stating he doesn't do that anymore and that 'times have changed'. Presumably this is a subtle way of saying that now Disney's running things, it wouldn't look good for their family-friendly image to have a main character strangling their son on the regular.

Bart strangles Homer one of the most recent episodes. I feel like it can't be the first time they've done that. Anyway, even in the classic episodes, they weren't based enough for Homer to punch Lisa in the face, even when she was basically asking for it.

Dead Homer Society has a great commentary on why all post 90s Simpsons parodies of corporate brands felt so weak. Because they just did the laziest form of parody by just replacing the names with rhymes and/or dumb puns.

Like 2000s Simpsons spoofed Apple, they called it Mapple. Ha ha get it? I, hell any of us could be that creative. Twitter/X is in the news a lot these days, let’s call it “Zitter” on the Simpsons and make jokes about “Pelon Husk.”

Good Simpsons had more far more memorable parodies of companies. And it wasn’t necessarily difficult to come up with. They just made one brand to be a broad amalgamation of a whole industry. Duff Beer is closest to Budweiser but it could parody any beer commercial it needed to be. Krusty Burger can mock pretty much any fast food joint. You get the idea.

But anyway Simpsons predicted the future again! Has Shitsons ever wound up predicting anything?
