I'm not a Simpsons fan, but I was having some trouble falling asleep last night and I thought of something that I think is kind of terrible: has anyone else considered the possibility that the Simpsons will never end? A lot of people have speculated that Fox will finally euthanize the show when one of the big VAs dies, but I don't think that will be the case. What is to stop them from having an AI replace the VAs when they die? AI generated pictures are still a little fucky, but the AI generated voice audio is pretty good and it's only going to get better as time goes on. Furthermore, with over 30 seasons, a movie, and video games they have a huge library of sample audio to work with, which would probably make a Marge or Homer AI voice pretty good. It might not even be necessary. With that much audio to work with, they could probably just cut and paste existing lines from previously published material without using AI. Animation and writing would probably still be done by humans, but I would imagine that AI could be used to help. At this point you might as well ask Chat GPT to give you ideas for a new Simpsons episode, since so much has already been done.

Alright. I watched the latest Treehouse of Horror episode so you guys don't have to. Boy, have the mighty have fallen. I know I sound like a broken record because the Simpsons had already jumped the shark and the series is akin to beating a dead horse. However, I haven't really watched the latest episodes so I didn't exactly expect the new episodes to be this bad.

Segment 1.: Wild Barts Can't Be Token. Bart is turned into an NFT and Marge must rescue him. This was the weakest part and didn't have much in horror expect for the "Ralphouse" mutant NFT. Marge's voice actor needs to be retired and how much did Kylie Jenner get paid to read about two to three lines? It was like if you took a piss break and came back she was gone. Worst guest character since Lady Gaga in my opinion.

Segment 2.: Ei8ht. Adult Lisa is on the hunt for a sadistic killer. By far this was the goriest segment. You'd expect it to be good but I felt it was more forced than true horror. Like someone from Bloody Disgusting who rants about PG.13 horror not being scary enough because it's not rated R. If you predicted Lisa herself was the killer to get revenge on Sideshow Bob you'd be right. Next!

Segment 3: Lout Break. Everyone excluding the Simpsons children are turned into mutant Homers. There that's the final segment. Happy? No? Well, there some funny bits, but it felt forced where Homer is a spoiled adult than a lovable oaf. Sure it's the Halloween special, yet it felt dirty. I did love the revel of Marge Homer. It was strangely wholesome and Marge's aging voice actress was perfect. Strange how that happens.

So the long-running gag of Homer strangling Bart is seemingly being retired from the show, at least according to this recent episode (Season 35, Episode 3) with Homer stating he doesn't do that anymore and that 'times have changed'. Presumably this is a subtle way of saying that now Disney's running things, it wouldn't look good for their family-friendly image to have a main character strangling their son on the regular.

Homer sounds increadably unnatural and out of character in that clip as if he is being reluctantly automated to virtual signal. Alongside this we see the recurring problem of every new character ceklebrity guest or not having to look grotesque and out of place. Just compare Marge to Kylie posted earlier or Homer and the guy he is talking to in that clip. Thnough one could say that Kylie doesnt look very attractive anyways so with Kylie its ok.
You know Zombie Simpsons is really a thing when the famous trope of Homer strangling Bart is being retired because of the “changing times”. What’s next, is Nelson not going to do his famous mocking laugh anymore?
It also really goes to show how different the mentality of Zombie Simpsons is to The Simpsons. While The Simpsons itself hass always been a progressive liberal show and always had its own agendas and messages its stuck to, it was meant portray thing that were contrary to how things were depeicted on television and how society views it. Zombie Simpsons on the other hand is a super mainstyream celebrity show that needs to follow what is accepted and what isn't. It is bassically implying that families were evil and abusivee in ther past and now everything is much better as well.

Just out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on the other episodes of the season so far? That last few seem like a realpse to olf Zombie SZimpsons with even defenders of these newer seasons saying thay arent th

Yeah I watched this one out of curiosity and my god this really was bad. The NFT segment felt so hard to be relevant and the last two were just okay at best.

Out of the main series voice actors, Marge's VA definitely feels like they're going to lose their voice at any second. Surprisingly the rest of the Simpsons family sounds fine but a little older, and Kelsey Grammer somehow sounds great still.

But even if this show produces a good episode once in a while, I hate to sound like a broken record but this show needs to be put down. Especially if they keep cutting gags and characters to appear more PC.

Also not to sperg, but fuck the Simpsons for caving in to that dumb Indian guy's complaints about Apu, it started the trend of every show needing to segregate voice casting for the actor to mention the skin tone of the character they voice.

If it makes you feel any better Poo got his comeuppance. Supposedly his entire motivation for making that stupid documentary was he was trying to break into a stand up comedy career and it never materialized.

They had a follow up piece on him a while back he's working a low wage job while after his stand up attempt flopped.

As usual they strike when it's hot! Eagerly looking forward to more takes on topical subjects like the retro-swing music craze, Beanie Babies, and cigar bars.

I heard they're going to do a WHOLE episode about how the Star Wars sequels suck and Kathleen Kennedy isn't so great of a producer. Dig that edgy current satire!
