tbh I have seen Costco evolve since the 80s
it's been a weird ride to see "costco pack" rather than "literally wholesale shit" become a thing

I wonder if there's a parallel to draw of Costco and The Simpsons changing

I just saw this a moment ago too. On one hand, it sucks that we won't see many new videos on a consistent basis, but on the other hand -- and quite frankly -- his latest videos have been kinda lackluster. I didn't laugh at that recent Nelson Muntz video at all.

I also checked out his new channel where he basically traces over old footage in Flash and uses Simpsons audio, and it looks pretty lame.

I would have also never guessed in a million years that he's an Asian guy with awkward speaking skills.
 
Hey still better than anything the actual show produces though. ...So of course the mouse wants to put his head in a vise and squeeze him dry.

That ep when Homer and Marge are wrongly accused of killing the old lady, that part when Rev Lovejoy and the Catholic guy start brawling one of the comments was to the effect of "lol Hellsing"

i feel like between zombie simpsons and jerkass homer simpsons enthuasiasts came up with the most autistic names. yes, simpsons sucks now you dont have to be a dork about it

been replaying simpsons hit & run ahead of a potential rerelease rumor (the soundtrack got an official streaming release) and something occured to me. i havent been able to find much videos or stuff with this angle but i feel like the scully era should gain SOME reappreciation. those episodes have a lot of stuff that is iconic to simpsons in a simpsony way. the problem with seasons 9-12 is that it's the point where the show become another cartoon and not an institution but i feel like if it had ended even a little after the movie its reputation wouldnt nearly be as bad. the teen seasons become a bad but watchable family guy riff and the modern seasons are elder abuse political propaganda but scully at least was trying to make a show with charm to it

there's so much shit in hit & run that comes from the scully era: the book burning van, lil bandit, tomacco, frostilicus. about as much as the classic seasons and the jean era of that time only got one reference (lol) so it came out at the right time when good simpsons was semi-recent

also semi-related but this is the type of thing youd read on an iceberg meme but did anyone ever get bad vibes ala the mario 64 wet dry world from hit & run's later levels and from certain episodes? like for example my sister my sitter, marge be not proud, mysterious voyage, the one where bart doesnt want to apologize. compared to positive vibe episodes like homie the clown, radioactive man, king sized homer even homer's enemy has a good vibe to it despite the dark subject matter

also also i feel like simpsons animation is underappreciated because it isnt "cartoony" and animation fans want bouncy squash and stretch

Every Simpsons quote video I've ever seen has had an awful comment section. It's usually just autists and boomers regurgitating lines from the video or saying what the characters should have done differently to ruin the jokes, but there are numerous times where people will take jokes way too seriously.

I remember reading the comments to a collection of scenes from Moaning Lisa where Bart is destroying Homer at a boxing video game, and Marge pulls the plug on Homer at the last second, and so many of the comments were exaggerating what Marge did and how awful she was, like she threatened Homer with a knife or some shit.
