I am genuinely curious if there are any modern Simpsons fans and why they still like it?

Cause I don't imagine zoomers and the like watching Nu-Simpsons given how all the VA's sound close to expiring. Even Homer's voice actor sounds like he's straining his voice and much older.

Plus the humor is autistic and boomer-ish.

Lolcow Russell Greer (almost 32) still thinks it's the absolute peak of hilarity and has also claimed to not see any decline in quality.

He even currently has a Simpson-ized profile pic:

Down here in South America we have a strong tolerance to bullshit in what we call "canned series". Not to mention that we freaking love The Simpsons here for a myriad of reasons, so admitting it's just crap nowadays won't exactly fly.

As such, for all we care the Simpsons are still top-of-the-shelf comedy.

I'd imagine most Zoomers that do like The Simpsons are either in it for the memes or they've got nostalgia for watching reruns of the old classic seasons when they were kids.

The Simpsons and King of the Hill used to be syndicated darlings in weekday reruns for a lot of Fox affiliates back in the 2000's, but that sort of tapered off around the time of the Great Recession.

I can only imagine today’s fans of The Simpsons only like it because of vid related:

That and plus actually a current day episode for a half an hour that is not Treehouse of Horror seems like a challenge in of itself.

Treehouse 5 was on
between the blood splatter and explicit cannibalism it seems like a lot of Simpsons Halloween specials would pull a fairly solid R

IIRC "MovieBob" once made the hot take that it was the viewers and not the show that changed.

Plus the humor is autistic and boomer-ish.
"THIS IS A JOKE AND HERE IS HOW IT IS FUNNY"
I could imagine they're now at "WE DON'T CARE IF THE JOKE IS NOT FUNNY".

You'd be surprised at how many Zoomers actually DO like Modern Simpsons, particularly when their favorite celebrity is a guest feature. It was like that when Lisa became a K-Pop fan.

Speaking of Hit & Run, I'm not sure if its already been shared in the thread but some mexican/brazilian(?) dude is making a pretty ambitious remake for it with the original as a base, complete with new graphics, reanimated cutscenes and a fully connected overworld, and possibly new vehicles.

And a friend of his is making a Futurama mod for H&R too but I'm highly skeptical of this one.

Its all probably going to get shut down by Disney, but if it doesn't at least its something Simpsons-related to look forward to I guess. Apparently a former dev who worked on H&R showed his support for the fan remake on twitter.
