80's Morrissey. And they ended that episode by trashing how he is now.
That one was really odd too because they then parody Morrissey being this slobbish pig who is eating meat.

Like look if you're a very liberal minded person and you hate Morrissey because he's given his support to UKIP and probably mutters negative thinks about those darn Pakis well fine you feel how you want to about him. But if Moz has stayed committed on one damn thing it's his obnoxious self-righteousness for being a vegan.

Here I go again trying to salvage modern day Shitsons but it would have been a much better commentary if their parody was anti-immigrant and also an obnoxious vegan which made Lisa realize again (just like in Lisa The Vegetarian) that she should try to positively encourage those interested to not eat meat but not think she's fucking better than them.

"It's a Civil War reenactment. We're gonna need a lot of Indians to shoot."

I always wished they ended the show after the movie. That was actually halfway decent, or maybe I just went in with such low expectations. Regardless, that is sort of the moment I stopped watching completely. Would have been a nice farewell, but I guess they'll just keep pumping these out year after year despite how god-awful they are.

The look on Marge's face when she has to tell Lisa that no; Homer really was firing a shotgun into the air like a maniac to attract customers to the bowling alley. Then Lisa's resigned face that she should have known that her father would do something that stupid.

Then later we get a callback to the joke where after Bart turns Homer into a Jack-in-the-Box, Marge takes the both of them to Marvin Monroe who is a Member of the Bonerland Medical Association.

"It's a Civil War reenactment. We're gonna need a lot of Indians to shoot."
"I don't know what part of that sentence to correct first, but I cannot come."

I feel so bad when I see modern simpsons
Although Disenchantment is still the worst thing Groening has ever done because at least nuSimpsons can make something decent once in a blue moon, but even then the show is unfortunately not the same exact show it once was. Thankfully, I still get to watch the older episodes as they are still gold, if not perfect.

Disenchantment was god-awful.

Google's advertising/news story suggestions gave me this clickbait. Fun twitter exchange.

You know the fact I think about The Simpsons so much sometimes just concerns me that I have severe brainrot aka autism. It's comforting to know that the old writers still think about a show they worked on more than 2 decades ago.

And yes like Weinstein I thought Homer just was giving a non-sequitor.

He jokes but I would pay for that service.

I think I like "Bart of Darkness" (the pool), "Marge vs. the Monorail", "Last Exit to Springfield" ("Dental plan!"), "Deep Space Homer", and the Stonecutters one best.

For me, it's the following – 22 Short Films of Springfield, Last Exit to Springfield, Hurricane Neddy, Lisa on Ice, Homer at the Bat, Homer Badman, Krusty Gets Kancelled, Burn's Heir, The Springfield Files, Flaming Moe, Bart Gets an F, Rosebud, Lemon of Troy, Homer's Enemy, Lisa's Substitute, Mr. Plow, The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show, Much Apu About Nothing and The Front.

I always did missed Lisa's shifts to being a genius to being a kid.

Lisa: Tiny little people! My God... I've created life!

*beat*

Marge: Lisa! Breakfast! We're having waffles!

Lisa: Ooh! Waffles!

The chief issue with Lisa is that the show's been written by people who grew up idolizing Lisa and the episodes where Lisa is a chronically depressed outsider and now that they are in charge of the show have decided to canonize their fanfic where Lisa avenges herself on Bart for bullying her and mocking her on a regular basis and who constantly is getting treated like a Golden God who gets her way more than she gets screwed over by others.
Say what you want about Family Guy but they actually dealt with this.
