I don't even want to imagine Bender getting recast after the terrible replacements they got for Hibbert and Carl in The Simpsons. I also can't help but to dread the possibility of Nixon getting "rehabilitated" in favor of a version of Trump from their fever dreams, or Zapp Branigan getting Me Too-ed.

I'm speaking as someone that enjoyed much of the Comedy Central episodes, this thing reeks of a monkey's paw wish.

Futurama had a perfect ending which created the ability to watch the full run of episodes in a cyclical format. What else are they going to tack on to the end of that?

Unless they want to do some kind of "Futurama Chronicles" thing that takes place before the end. Regardless, I don't want to see it happen.

Our top stories tonight: A tremendous EXPLOSION in the price of lumber!

"President Reagan dyes... his hair" says Gary Trudeau in his new musical comedy review!

But first let's check the death count from the killer storm... bearing down on us like a shotgun full of snow!

Unpopular opinion Alert but honestly I feel the 2000’s episodes still have the odd hilarious bit and really funny line that takes the show back to its 90s era. It’s not perfect by any means and still nowhere near as good as the shows best but the shows been on for so long now I’ve got new appreciation for the silver age now. I’m also a 2000s kid so I grew up with this era so it’s too nostalgiac for me to really hate.

Best Silver Age line- Homer: “Well excuuuse me, for having enormous flaws, THAT I DONT WORK ON!!

I mean there were a lot of good episodes in the 2000's era, even if there was crap. Simpsons just became irredeemable garbage since the 2010s

Homer: I'd like to buy a mint condition Spider-Man #1

Cbg: and I'd like 5 minutes on the holodeck with 7 of 9.

Opens a briefcase of money.

Cbg: Saturn's rings! Let me get that for you!

Uses a key to unseal a complex airtight tube holding a mint condition copy of the first issue of Spider-Man

Cbg: paper bag or triple mylar?

Homer: uh no thanks I'll just eat it here!

Starts ripping the pages out and eating it.

Cbg: OH! WHAT YOU DOING?! GOOD, FAIR...POOR OHHHH!"

I dislike all those "dark" fan things because most I see are still upholding the canon status quo of Idiot Homer and Expendable Bart.
Where is all the "Marge is a disfunctional drunk" and "Simpsons are normal, Lisa is just an awfull narc who imagines them that way"?

What do you think of the movie?
I used to love it as a kid, but now looking we’ll over a decade later I don’t think it’s aged very well. The film has a weird kind of ‘empty’ atmosphere to it and has a identity crisis like mixing the Golden Age with the awkwardness of some of the 2000s episodes. It’s still pretty funny on occasion, I still laugh out loud with many of the sight gags and that one great shop drawing scene. Where Bart draws on their wanted poster and by sheer coincidence those exact doodled versions of them are right behind them. But aside from that, I don’t think it’s brilliant, the plot feels kinda rehashed and the pacing drags a lot. The animation is great though. Still probably the best ‘episode’ of this century. This should’ve have been the series finale.
