I didn't get that one when I was little."John Hancock's writing his name in the snow!"
It's a really good jokeI didn't get that one when I was little.
You can sort of see in the original joke that he puts his foot down to the side of the handle, so the handle is close enough to hit him in the face.I'm totally being nitpicky here... But I honestly think that this is a bad joke. It's literally a plot point in Bob's very first (real) appearance that he has freakishly long feet. If he stepped on a rake and it went straight up in the air... It wouldn't *immediately* hit him in the face like it would if he had even remotely regular sized feet. And it's a recurring joke for Bob that I honestly remembered starting earlier than this episode. @_@
Ok, he stepped on the side of the rake the first time so it "kind of" made sense that it hit him in the face *the first time*. Did he step on the sides of the rakes the next 8 times in a row? (we don't see his feet every other time that he does. But the several times that we do, it looks like he's just walking straight into them.)You can sort of see in the original joke that he puts his foot down to the side of the handle, so the handle is close enough to hit him in the face.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2WZLJpMOxS4I don't have the source atm, but I've heard the writers thought they were about to be canceled. As a result there were a lot of "What are they going to do, fire us?" jokes in that season. Plus, the rake joke was only drawn out like that because the episode ran short.
I guess? I doubt the writers were thinking about this so hard.Ok, he stepped on the side of the rake the first time so it "kind of" made sense that it hit him in the face *the first time*. Did he step on the sides of the rakes the next 8 times in a row?
