I had originally assumed a creepy boy hit on her after she got braces and thus she was being fetishized, but according to wikipedia her classmates just liked her more because the braces made her smile. And, as we all know, there's nothing more misogynistic than a smiling woman.
 
I haven't watched an episode in over a decade so does Bart still fuck with people and act like a little asshole or is that too triggering for modern Simpsons writers?
 
I'm just waiting for the episode where Homer gets cancelled because Springfield remembered he called John Waters queer, or said he thinks people who vote are a little fruity. It'll be just like the episode where he got cancelled after taking the gummy off the babysitter's butt, only there won't be any jabs and mockery at outrage mobs, it'll be completely played serious.

And lemme guess, Lisa will be the one to do it and she'll be praised for outing her dad before having to learn a lesson, thus restoring status quo.
 
I remember one "future" episode from a few years ago where they made a joke that implied Bart got a blowjob from Miss Hoover. I felt like my childhood had been molested.
