I think I would've appreciated these kind of couch gags (especially ones by guest animators) more if they were made during the show's heyday. It's painfully obvious it's being a tryhard in staying remotely relevant. All that talent wasted on the husk of a once-great show.

Speaking of which, I wonder if they removed the couch gags by John K. considering he got #MeToo'd? It would be pretty hypocritical to remove the Michael Jackson episode but not the John K. couch gags.

There was the end of Treehouse of Horror V where she's turned inside out along the rest of her family.

True, but has she ever died in a grotesque way during the Al Jean seasons?

Even in the Treehouse of Horror episodes where main characters are no longer off limits, Lisa is always let off easy.

The saddest part of all this is that Lisa was one of the more beloved characters in the classic years despite her occasional proto-woke leanings and episodes like "Lisa The Vegetarian"

Now she's arguably the most hated main character in Zombie Simpsons.

I was waiting for Maggie's body to float to the surface but they chickened out.
I think seeing the chicken float up dead was better than Maggie, honestly.

Though this intro begs the question of "Where's Abe during all this?" And is it safe to assume that Lenny and Carl also died when they fell given that they're killing off everyone they can besides Bart?

Mind if we bring back the "Simpsons Screenshot Game" we did a while back?

Pick a random screenshot from The Simpsons and find a song you think best fits it.

Here's my newest pick.

If anyone has a MySpleen account, Bart vs Thanksgiving is on there from an original airing with original commercials. Next best thing to watching someone's old Betamax tape.

According to rumors originating from Danny Elfman himself, The Simpsons is set to officially end next season.
While I would like to believe this, Elfman's not exactly an important member of the show in its current form. Don't get me wrong, he composed the theme music which is iconic, but to my knowledge he doesn't compose the music in the show itself.

If it were Harry Shearer or Nancy Cartwright coming out and saying this, I'd be more inclined to believe it since they're far more important to the production of new episodes than Danny Elfman.
