So the number of shit seasons will officially be twice the number of okay-excellent ones. 1 / 3 ain't bad.

I head somewhere they don't even have Bart go to school anymore so they don't have to deal with who'd be his new teach at all. Shame really.
Another sign of the times, I guess.

I also assume they won't explain the in-universe reason why he's not going to school anymore, correct?

Speaking of, let's answer that question, shall we?
Who teaches Bart's class now?

Well, I read on /co/ (yeah bear with me on this one) that Skinner was supposedly teaching the class, even though we never saw it happen. There was an episode a season or so ago where there was an attempt to introduce a new teacher, but she ended up a one-off because surprise! She was voiced by a celebrity. I think that was the last time they even showed the school in a major capacity IIRC.

I don't think Skinner's even appeared after that episode, in fact.

Sad if they ran out of ideas there and simply drop the school, period. I think giving Bart a teacher who's a 180 of Krabappel would've been an interesting character to develop. Someone who obviously cares about their job but knows how to keep a certain troublemaker in line.

But yeah, like with Homer, Bart joins his dad in not going to the usual place most of the time.

This will be what the last few seasons of The Simpsons will look like because nobody on the show cares anymore:

I know there was an episode where Bart was taught by a character voiced by Willem Dafoe. He managed to keep Bart in line, but was ultimately chased off during a Burning Man parody.

I read that show runner/producer Al Jean wants the show to end at season 30. I'm deeply surprised that it just keeps going, you can even hear that the voice actors have just stopped caring especially the one who voices Marge.

Currently going through seasons 4-10 again. I'm not going to bother with anything past that. Skipping the lisa-centric episodes like usual. Deep Space Homer and Homer the Chosen are still fucking great as are most of the treehouse episodes.

Looking through some synopses of the recent 2-3 seasons and it all reads like LOL SO RANDOM XD shit to me, like this one for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Came_to_Be_Dinner

Sounds more like a Family Guy episode to me.
I read that the writers wanted to try a change of pace for Treehouse of Horrors, this was probably them experimenting with "non-canon" outrageous episodes. But yeah, wasn't a good episode. I'd at least give "Halloween of Horrors" a chance since it did feel like a classic episode.

It was a masterpiece because it was neither preachy nor unfunny about the topic of vegetarianism.

It's not like Lisa was infallible in the early seasons anyway. Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa's Rival and Lisa the Iconoclast were all perfectly cromulent episodes and they all three showed that Lisa can be wrong.
I like those episodes because the writers remembered that Lisa is still a child, not a child-sized adult.

Marge's voice sounds so different now compared to Season 10 and earlier.
I'm sure it's becoming a strain for Julie Kavner to keep doing that sort of voice, even more so when it comes to Marge's sisters.

Lisa in the earlier years used to be my fave. Especially in episodes like Moaning Lisa or Lisa's Substitute.

Talking in that gravely voice can take a toll if one does it constantly for about 30 seasons.
Reasons why they dropped Dr. Marvin Monroe pretty quickly for giving Harry Shearer a lot of strain in his voice.

You tried your best, and you failed miserably.

The lesson is... never try.

But seriously, I thought they killed off Monroe. Turns out he was just "very sick."

I thought so too, but I haven't kept up with the show in a long time, I only recall them named a hospital after him and that was that. I just liked that character back in season one when it was the family coming in for a session.
