First, I don't know if I'm posting in the right subforum, but I TRULY & HONESTLY searched for a suitable place. Feel free to let me know if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I have been introduced to the wondrous world of Chris-Chan about four months ago. I have been obsessed with him since and I like to make stupid shit/games when I'm not busy having no life. I want to make an Otome game themed after Chris-Chan. I can draw almost as well as Chris does, so the art will be fabulous (jk, I actually draw like a mature 10 yo). And I have come to one of the biggest gathering of Chris-related experts for advice on a mature, respectable and non-biased Dating Sim based on CWC.

My first hesitation involves the playable character. Should the protagonist be Chris-Chan, or should it be some randomn china? This choice will heavily influence the game's direction, but I can see both option as being pretty fun, although the second one will require more thought to be interesting.

I would like to reference most of the Sagas, the focus being of course the various gal-pals of Chris. I shouldn't put too many of them. I was thinking of making the following characters romancable: Sarah Hammer, Megan, Anna McLaran, PandaHalo, Julie, Ivy, Jackie, Kacey, Catherine and Billy Jae. Should I add more of them, or remove some of them, why or why not? I was also thinking of adding hidden romancable characters like Sonichu, Liquid Chris, Clyde Cash and Barb. If you play as some chick, I wanted to make her romance the different sweethearts through Chris, while avoiding being harassed by Chris. If she ends up in his room, it's game over.

For this part, I am almost certain of my choices, but I'd like to hear your opinion anyway. I want to create three separate "universes": the real-world, CWC-ville and the Internet. I think it is clear for anyone how Chris' irl locations and CWC-ville can be easily represented in an Otome game. I want to do the exact same thing for the Internet: represent it like an actual physical place where you could see the 'people' who interact with you. Each and every site will be a separate room, with its own decors and people.

I also hesitate about setting up a monetary system. I want for the character to manage its money every month. If the playable character is Chris, I would like to make the system reflect Chris' uncanny ability to manage finances and responsibility. I had the idea of having a 10-day loop where you would get a "monthly tugboat" and if you don't spend it by the end of the month, the money vanishes/is transformed into video games. You basically cannot save money, but if you need money to go to the real world, pay for the internet, survive... If you reach 0$ by the end of the month, Bob cuts the internet, you are grounded and it's game over. What are your ideas about having a monetary system in a CWC dating sim?

I would be very happy to hear your thoughts. I will try to complete the game by the end of summer. If I don't, it will take a while, because I will have to get of my ass/welfare and do something to remain a decent human being.

You can't even make up your damn mind about the basic ideas.

Chris's life is worth about fifty lines of code IMO. If a game make my kiwis happy, then a game would be worth a bit more than that. A VN is a lot more work than people think, especially with extra features starry-eyed programmer like to imagine.

The game should be one screen with minimal inputs from the player. Basically press one button to write meaningless shit online and another to shit yourself. The quality of the animations is up to you.
