It's been two weeks and I'm already fucking exhausted with the NFL blatantly courting Taylor Swift fans.
The Chiefs are never going to lose another game and any team that threatens to do that is gonna get jobbed by the refs the same way the Jets were tonight with that bullshit holding call.

The NFL has gotten really weird about trying to court everyone in the past few years, not just Swifties. This Taylor Swift thing is just the biggest break the league has gotten, so of course they’re gonna ride it until it dies.

It’s weird, because I always thought the NFL has a massive fan base as-is, and that Football would get more fans naturally in the same way that Baseball does; by people who love the game sharing it with other people. Watching FOX, ESPN, and other networks beg for my attention the same way advertisers do makes me uncomfortable.

I feel like nigger cattle, kiwibros. I just wanna watch muh Foobaw.

Just like in previous years, Cinci rode the hot hand of their starting QB, and when he's injured or loses his mojo, they eat shit afterwards. Palmer? Dalton? They never seem to thoroughly build an O-Line around their star QBs until its too late. Burrow's is now on his.. third injury, and he's trying to play through it now and it's exposing how much the Bengals relied on him to get them out of trouble every game.

They do have a massive fanbase. Ten to fifteen years ago companies began to decide that their users/fanbase should consist of fucking every single person on Earth regardless of the product. It's when you began to see commercials start exclusively catering to demos who don't buy the product or use the service. Your core demographic already cares and will likely continue to care even if you neglect them, so spend all your efforts courting demos you haven't grabbed yet. It's obnoxious as shit.

I have not given the NFL a nickel in a long time and I wish my old many would just let me put on pirated streams when we watch together.

The incredibly tone deaf NFL commercials trying to market to the Hispanic community always make me laugh. I'm half expecting them to bring a mariachi band on the field at some point.

Honestly I’m surprised no athlete has floated the idea of a fake gay relationship for attention and PR purposes only to come out again as “Bi” and exclusively date women again after the well has run dry. Honestly, I can’t name any that I could conceivably see doing that, but someone is gonna see the attention Kelce is doing and do something.

This has opened up the celebrity dating pandora's box in football. I don't see a lot of guys engaging with it, but there will certainly be at least a few attention whores who will try. I picturing dudes like OBJ.

I’ve been hearing gay rumors about Rodgers for so many years that if he were actually gay and ever came out, the entire world would probably just shrug and go “Ok and?.”

Personally, I think one of the Minnesota Vikings should call up Lizzo. She did say she had a man on that team in one of her songs.

As I said earlier, would anyone even care if he came out at this point? Like yea of course some people would hate him, but I feel like the general consensus would be “Who cares? He’s good at football.” and everyone who scorned him for the Covid shit would immediately pretend like they always adored him.
