You haven't seen the end of an NBA game, have you? They literally changed the rules either this year or last to limit teams to 2 timeouts in the final 3 minutes because the last 2 clock minutes of the game took 30 minutes in real time.

They solved time wasting problem in major soccer matches by literally accountimg for time lost through fake dives and other play acting.

The end result was soccer matches getting 10 plus minutes of extra time when the norm was usually 3 to 4.

I noticed the extra time minutes started to decrease as the world cup progesssed on.
