Was it actually successful? I'll admit I naively believed all the mainstream negativity managed to tank it. Glad I'm wrong but still...
Like, there was that one interview the director had with some Australian morning news show and she constantly humiliated them and proved them wrong to the point they now try to pull the "interview" wherever it is. But no one's ever gonna bring up how wrong they were compared to the misinformation they spread.
It did pretty well, last I checked. Sold rather well on a lot of the streaming services that provided it.

Every video I've seen of people either talking about or reacting to E3 has had nothing but positive things to say about the game. Seems the visual style really drew people's attention.

The moral of this story? Stay the fuck off Twitter/Instagram and just keep to your friends/family on Facebook. No good comes from social media. People will use it to twist anything you post into their narrative. Especially if you've got a good job, nothing is as autistic as loosing your dream job and having to work at some shitty job cause 5 years ago you posted something people like.

That's on you.

Streisand Effect. Bitch that much about something and people will get curious. Even the film's creator basically said that the reason it's done as well as it has is because its critics go fucking insane over it, which I admit sounds hilariously familiar to almost everyone who's followed any of the cows mocked in this thread.

Well, the game seems getting some endorsment from someone who don't give an actual fuck

The best Zoe and her crew can expect is asspats from their circlejerk while the guy they decide to try and incite an online mob against gets praise from one of the most well regarded auteurs in video games.

Hopefully this makes people realise they don't have to engage with those idiots.

Eh, even gaming media sites aren't that stupid. Chances are that it won't really hurt the game at all.

That was my point. "professional" game reviewers opinions of the game will have no negative effect on its sales and might actually improve them, just like the red pill movie.

The mods and owner constantly claim the site isn't a hivemind, yet this is a complete admission that if you don't agree with their opinion, you're probably not from the site.

I like how the posters calling people bigots for liking a game's aesthetic don't have an agenda, the people with an agenda in the thread are the ones posting first impressions.
