Necroing because NCT member Taeil is allegedly involved in some or other sexual offense serious enough to have him dropped from the group (not that it's all that difficult considering most of them blend into the background and are ultimately forgettable but I say this as someone who doesn't care all that much for K-pop nowadays outside the occasional check-up and older performers).

Absolutely none of the regular 'sources' I've admittedly just glanced over seem to know exactly what is going on. Wonder if more details will emerge or if this will quietly end with either his arrest or potentially the case being dropped.

On a completely unrelated note: it felt as though most K-pop musicians had decent enough plastic surgery that while probably excessive wasn't horrifying or comical. Hyoyeon of SNSD had been the most blatant example in the space (of more prominent idols) for me for a long time. There was a reason Park Bom stood out from the crowd so much.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Hyolyn, BoA (who I believe got into some level of controversy after appearing stiff and puffed up in a drama appearance), Namjoo of Apink (who is still working off that botched job), Hyuna, and Wendy of Red Velvet (pictured) are a few examples of how blatant (and shoddy...) shit has become. Or perhaps I'm looking at the scene with new eyes. Granted, all of these women have aged since their debut but even seeing newer groups, I feel like I'm staring at shiny Unreal Engine models rather than people, girls and guys alike. At least when some idols debuted before, they felt a little more natural.

Of course pre-debut surgeries have likely always existed, Jessica of SNSD being evidence of that, I believe. Perhaps it's just more blatant? Yet netizens seem both eager to shame idols with poor jobs and praise idols with passing results, all while South Korea continues to be a plastic surgeon's wet dream.

For reference, I believe both images of Wendy here are fairly recent (2021-2024).

Half the time, these girls don't even look bad to begin with, but the current trend of getting so much plastic surgery that you look like an alien/blow up doll/yellow Bogdanoff is out of control. Koreans are fairly ugly as far as Asians go, so I understand why people would want an eyelid surgery here or a nose job there, but I don't understand who finds these uncanny valley levels of plastic surgery attractive.

You may criticize JPop because the girls are picked for looks over talent, and that's a fair point- however, they're not relying on massive amounts of plastic surgery to make themselves look almost inhuman. I can look at AKB members and go "she's cute", but whenever I see a kpop girl it gives me a weird feeling.

You think J-Pop stars don't have extremely carefully curated appearances? Allow me to inform you of yaeba, for example.

If that's the case how do you feel about Sakura from Le Serrafim? She's an actual former AKB and HKT48 member that went kpop.

Personally, I don't see a lot of Korean idols looking that bizarre nowadays. I've seen people say that a lot but I just don't see it like how everyone else is seeing it?

Like yes, they get work done and look leagues above average humans but I never see these homunculus creatures people talk about.

The older gen idols definitely I can see the work, but with newer gens I think it's mostly styling, stage-style makeup, photo editing apps and some minor work (not new faces a majority of the time)/non-invasive beauty procedures.

Like if Chan from Stray Kids managed to become an idol and not get a nose job… lol

IMG_3244.jpeg
IMG_3246.jpeg

Though it actually kinda funny seeing how much they actually photoshop idols when it comes to Chan. They make him have a new nose at some times.

But the most stand out case for that in the newer gens is one member from Illit getting new teeth when they were like 16-19 though. I think all of them got new teeth, but Iroha(?) was the worst. Especially after right after they debuted. They gave her fucking horse teeth.

IMG_3238.png

I think at the end of the day there's always gonna be idols getting work that they don't actually need done. But that's always been the case in the industry though.

I really think what's been fucking people up are the Samsung beauty filters and photo editing apps and plastic surgery. I think the photo editing apps are what causes the uncanny effect.

But I also might just be face blind and kinda biased bc I don't care for most female idols lol. Then again it's South Korea so both men and women get ridiculous surgery.

Speaking of another male idol, I always thought Hui (ex-Pentagon) got a really bad/obvious nose job. He has that typical "too" perfect overly pinched type of nose.

^ this is a 2024 recent photo

Hui was with Cube (pre-2018 Cube, to boot) and I don't think he's ever shared baby/predebut photos. Probably for that reason alone lol.

Re-necroing, as it briefly appeared in the sponsored section.

...NCT member Taeil...dropped from the group...
Lul, fans were treating this as such a big deal*, especially those who were worried about (and those who were) the poor saps who were biased to him... in a group known for its egregious amount of members, so much so that "NCT" refers to 4 different bands.
You have plenty of other people to make your new bias. The world ain't ending! Maybe if it was a five-member group, where each singer is doing about 20% of the work, but come on.
Now, given that the overall K-Pop fanbase is 80% teenage girls, who have strong emotions, free time, will stop at nothing to achieve goals (or do the opposite: not contributing to something to bring it to their desired result, see: LOONA having only 800k listeners due to a "boycott") he will not be able to get work or money with/from any big labels again, but he doesn't need to.

*side note: i am not saying the rape wasn't a big deal, it very much is.
i am referring to the act of him being dropped from the group.

K-pop...plastic surgery...
Yeah, you can tell that the modern scene is made with the intent of money, and it's even more transparent than ever, where idols are being chosen based solely on looks [hmm, a bunch of old men arguing about which teenager they find more attractive? Alarm bells are ringing! Woop-woop!]
I really don't like the direction it's going in, with idols getting younger and younger while hundreds of sick fucks are pounding on their collective skin flutes. There was a little bit of hope when it got included in "normie" (for lack of a better word) media (Crazy was in Marvel Rivals, so a lot of normies switched from denouncing kpop to actually listening to it for fucking once!!!)... but all that hope went out the window once kpdh became popular (side note, unironically, kpdh was a psyop to make kpop fans look like assfaggots and you will never not convince me of thid)

https://media.discordapp.net/attach...367e519a7c7f7fee5bb1426547cc0ad76abf6bfa7789& anyways take this as a reward for this wall of text

ah, the fucking link broke
wasn't much anyways, just newjeans members dancing to a song made up of "nigger"

anyways
chaos strikes the kpop scene as allday project <a new co-ed group, with former members of other groups and survival shows in it> is being attacked from all angles!
why?
because tarzzan, one of the members, did such egregious things as say the nigger word (once) and call women bitches. tldr its a big nothing burger and just hormonal women being hormonal women. 99% of his accusations are just wearing cornrows and throwing up gangsigns which doesnt make him a monster lmao it makes him a wigger but that's it

NOW they're in even more of a shitstorm as they were caught "buying" their way to a daesang which, for the kpop illiterate, is THE award of the genre
this, combined with stray kids (public enemy number 1 in the scene and community) winning a daesang and having 8 albums debut on the billboard 200, has got everyone's knickers in a twist
this is big enough to post here, so i will!
god i wish this thread was more active, such a gold mine of lols
bonus: tiktok reactions to ADP!
IMG_8391.jpeg

bonus-bonus: this group even has internal struggles, with yeongseo being shamed for wanting to wear pink due to her illit roots

"Yeongseo ADP" refers to Youngseo, a member of the co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT (ADP), which is managed by The Black Label. The acronym ADP stands for the group's name. Youngseo was previously a pre-debut member of other groups, including ILLIT, and was a contestant on the survival show R U Next?.

  • Former pre-debut member: She was a pre-debut member of the girl groups ILLIT and N Team.

mind you, they don’t even have a mini album out yet. no fandom name, no lightstick, they are literally brand NEW idols and somehow they got a daesang? hmm...

I don't follow them but Cocona from XG came out as "trans masculine" and already got top surgery. She LITERALLY just turned 20 (her birthday is today) and looks like if Connie and Bobby Hill had a baby.

I don't know if you've followed it but there's been some drama with Black Label, YG and Hybe as companies.

Basically what happened if you don't know:

Min Heejin was the creative director/CEO of Ador, a subcompany under Hybe and NewJeans' company. Min Heejin tried to accused of Hybe of a bunch of shit but it's been coming out that she was behind basically trying to sabotage Illit's debut and she tried to accuse of Le Sserafim of "stealing" the debut date for NewJeans.

In September 2024, Min Heejin had to leave her position at Ador. Because of it, NewJeans tried to leave Hybe, which caused a lot of shit the last year for the whole industry. NewJeans said that they "didn't want to" work under Hybe because "their feelings/trust in the company were hurt" by them and they wanted Min Heejin to be their CEO, even though she willingly left Ador and Hybe.

They technically haven't been active since November 2024 and they got their asses handed to them by Hybe in court.

After they lost in court, 2 members of NewJeans (Haerin and Hyerin) relented and Hybe accepted them back to Ador to finish out their contract that ends in 2029.

The reason why all that's relevant is because there's speculation that the remaining 3 members of NewJeans (Hanni, Danielle and Minji) are trying to get scouted by The Black Label/YG so TBL/YG can pay their legal fees and they don't have to go back to Hybe.

ETA: It's been confirmed that Hybe accepted Haerin and Hyerin back, because they'll go back on Ador's term. Hybe has not made a public announcement with the other three girls, and it's been speculated that they weren't accepted back and that's why they immediately went to TBL and YG. Danielle used to be a YG trainee.

Mind you NewJeans had the most expensive debut like ever. Hybe put 20-50 billion won into their debut and they had A LOT of high end endorsements before they debuted, and were even ambassadors to Gucci, Celine, etc.

They were also featured in a BTS music video, which is nothing to scoff at right now now that they're the most looked at group. (They got a lot of hype because they themselves called themselves "BTS's little sister" too and also had their own penthouse rather than dorms, with their own special makeup and hair team from the start.)

NewJeans has to pay Hybe at least 1 billion from legal fees, whether they go back to Hybe or not.

So long story, there's a lot of eyes on The Black Label and YG right now, mostly with this NewJeans speculation.

And also how this group got that MAMA award for literally doing nothing. I've literally never heard this group. There's some fishy shit going on with them more than average company fuckery.

ETA:
Also there's theories that Min Heejin has something to do with YG and TBL stuff. She's apparently starting her own company after the last year of constantly being in court with Hybe. She desperately needs backers because the other backers she's had (mainly NewJeans parents, including a member's uncle and some other nebulous guys) fucked off after the court ruling.

YG specifically has always been trying to fuck over Big Hit/Hybe (that's always been hearsay. But when there's smoke there's fire lol.

I've always thought it was funny Taehyung/Jennie dating rumors always crop up when Jennie needs PR. They cropped up last time when Jennie was getting criticized for the slop that "The Idol" was).

TREMENDOUSLY depressing. I actually thought her choosing to shave her head for a music video and having slightly more butch styling was bold and cool, and bringing back the trend of girl groups having one member embody a more tomboy concept (like Amber in f(x), or Soyeon in i-dle).

But now instead of loving ourselves and presenting however we want, surgery on a 20 year old is the answer. Yes I understand they've all been getting random cosmetic surgeries already, but this one in particular strikes the worst chord. To be so young and then to put out that long coming out post (of course getting massively glazed for it). Really sends a great message to young teen girl fans who are guaranteed to also hate their bodies 🙄 FFS she's Japanese. How did this even happen? I blame Utada Hikaru

I do love XG - their choreo and songs go hard. But I hate this so much.

Same, that's why it's so upsetting. I hate how there are idols liking her post about it, but at least it's a minority. All the doctors doing these mutilations should spend the rest of their lives in prison.

XG is not kpop bozo
they are japanese and sing in english, they have close ties to the kpop industry (as well as production and format similarities) but are not inherently kpop
*taps the sign with the thread name*
ain't newjeans gonna be forced back to hybe to do music
the general thing is their contract was not halted
she was behind basically trying to sabotage Illit's
WHICH NJZ SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR BTW Lol

Only 2 out of 5 girls have officially accepted back back to Hybe and Ador.

All Hybe and Ador has said is that they're still discussing the future of the remaining members, and haven't said anything more.

Compare and contrast with how Hybe and Ador announced the two members being accepted back in the company the same day the decision was made.

There's some speculation that Hanni, Danielle and Minji (the remaining members that haven't been accepted) are trying to get signed with YG so that YG can take care of the legal fees for them.

Personally I think all 5 should just get blacklisted from the industry.

Okay well, I personally don't give a shit about girl groups lol. I heard about it from a kpop thing I'm part of. other than that, I really cannot be bothered.

jesus fucking christ am i the only kpop fan on the farms what is happening

anyways

i hate orbits so much nigga

immense toxicity and will hate on your favs for fun. their community is full of the kind of tards that unironically think men are the problem with everything, "kam" this and "pig" that! actually, that's an issue with only-gg stans... they claim all bgs sound the same. yes, because this very diverse category of music within another very diverse category of music is all the same. OH SILLY ME, I LISTENED TO RING DING DONG BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS FUCKING TRUMAN BY STRAY KIDS. They don't really think it sounds the same, they need an excuse to be a misandrist faggot. Well, Orbits don't need an excuse, they're proud about it!
their humor consists of the same handful of phrases that have been twisted to unrecognizability (boycott -> girl, the boycott -> girl, the bloodclot)
ok speaking of the boycott
BLOCKBERRY CREATIVE DOES NOT LEGALLY EXIST ANYMORE. THEY ARE NOT A COMPANY. STOP GIVING ME SHIT FOR LISTENING TO LOONA OFFICIALLY!
you know, one effect of the boycotting is that i never get recommended their stuff on spotify because of everyone blocking the official loona page, so ive forgotten about their songs often, which is counterintuitive to what orbits want, isn't it? partially you could say that's on me for not making my own playlists, being lazy, and using the radios they give you but i think i should b able to hear them just as muchhhhhhh but no! the fucking bloodclot/boycott!

Also remember... The time... THAT THEY SPAMMED STAN LOONA EVERYWHERE?

Twitter reply section? Stan Loona!
Group chat about another gg? Stan Loona!
News article about a gay pedophile prostitution ring? Stan Loona!

Yeah, so,
Total Orbit Death.
Kill Orbits. Behead Orbits. Roundhouse kick a Orbit into the concrete. Slam dunk a Orbit baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy Loona stans. Defecate in an Orbit's food. Launch Orbits onto the moon. Stir fry Orbits in a wok. Toss Orbits into active volcanoes. Urinate into an Orbit's photocard binder.. Judo throw Orbits into a wood chipper. Twist Orbits heads off. Report Orbits to BlockBerry Creative. Karate chop Orbits in half. Curb stomp pregnant black Orbits. Trap Orbits in quicksand. Crush Orbits in the trash compactor. Liquefy Orbits in a vat of Chuu's vaginal discharge. Eat Orbits. Dissect Orbits. Exterminate Orbits in the gas chamber. Stomp Orbit skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate Orbits in the oven. Lobotomize Orbits. Mandatory abortions for Orbits. Grind an Orbit's Loona albums in the garbage disposal. Drown Orbits in fried chicken grease. Vaporize Orbits with a ray gun. Kick predebut Orbits down the stairs. Feed Orbits to alligators. Slice Orbits with a katana.m
I will write more about why i hate orbits tomorrow but christ I needed to get this out because of them hating on Stray Kids as if their "noise music" (read: edm and future bass) material isn't exactly what loona was putting out

Danielle just got kicked out. Probably because she wouldn't shut the fuck up about her greviances with ador. Surprised they let Hanni back despite going all the way to the national assembly and started crying over being "ignored". I don't think they'll terminate Minji. She's popular and isnt a foreigner.

Danielle had the disadvantage of being impulsive, half white, relatively unpopular, and did not care about her contract.. not to mention all of the shit stirring she and Hanni did.

All of them committed career suicide. Spoiled brats threw away an opportunity of a lifetime because MHJ groomed them into delusions. Their parents need to be investigated as well. Exploiting their kids for the sake of greed is sickening.

Edit: on mobile rn cant be assed to post sauce.

I'm still grossed out (for lack of a better term) that she did that, especially because it was revealed in the court docs she didn't even GET that she was being treated rudely (bc she wasn't) and only went with it bc Min Heejin basically told her to be upset.

J still get people saying "you can't say she wasn't abused in that situation" when she literally said it wasn't a big deal at first. Then started crying about it.

Truthfully, absolutely none of them deserve to come back. Their careers and the NewJeans brand was dead a while ago. They all got exposed for being absolute brats and now no one genuinely likes them, besides the "Team Bunny" fandom that's paid behind the scenes.

Good riddance. They sucked as performers and literally nothing they did was original. If you want to listen to "y2k music", just listen to OG Britney because back then she was actually talented.

I think Danielle's mommy and daddy put a lot of $$$ into Danielle being an idol and why she immediately started warming up to YG and TBL because it didn't matter to her.

Her sister, who also wants to be a performer, was found out plagiarizing her songs immediately once they were released lol.

Edited: I'm surprised they let Hanni back in also because she was falling out of favor with a lot of fans by the time this stuff started, and the opinion got worse especially with the Knetizens.
