Information on the voting system:
This is rank-choice vote, also called instant-runoff voting.
When the votes are calculated, any candidate with 50% of the 1st choice wins.
If there is no clear winner, the candidate with the least 1st votes is eliminated.
Those who voted for the eliminated candidate have their 2nd choice applied on top of the 1st choice voters.
If there is still no winner with 50% of the votes, the second least first-picked candidate is eliminated.
This process continues until a candidate has 50% of the vote.

If you only choose one candidate, your vote counts. If your choice is eliminated, like it could be in a regular vote, you simply don't have a second choice counted.
If you choose fewer than the total number of candidates, don't worry. All your choices count. It is unlikely the votes will go past one or two rounds each.
There is no wrong way to vote. Just rank the ones you like by how much you like them. Don't sweat it.
