OG vs Liquid is the most wholesome final ever.
Also Stockholm next year for TI? Interesting. Expensive!
It really is, a comfy finale.
We don't know what the deal is. A lot of times, cities bid on tournaments like these. I wouldn't be surprised if Valve contacted several cities and picked the one with the best offer. Its also interesting they're going to Stockholm. TI 3 was really where the International took off and its going back to where Alliance came from
the fuck was ana thinking?
held onto buyback until they were like 40% through the ancient after deleting the towers in 2 seconds flat
No idea, maybe he just hesitated or was told not to. It was a bad choice, I think if he bought back they could have at least held.
We've Heard of millions worthy play but never thought we would see a millions worth ítem, jesus fuck that was entertaning. Fuck the chinese crowd tho, unfunny cunts.
I better go to sleep, thought this was gonna he shorter
I tried to stay up, but I fell asleep during game 3.
Tried to stay up to see it all, but that just wasn't happening. Glad to see Liquid ended up knocking LGD out, either way. That must have been one hell of a comeback.
The Chinese crowd basically left after LGD got its back broken by Liquid. I mean, that's how you beat LGD. They think they're the super best ever, never dropping a game. But when they're heavily in the lead, with an 80-20 win rate and you come back and destroy them, you basically just win the series. Its what happened to them last year with OG and its what happened this year with Liquid.
I made it two games into Liquid vs OG and couldn’t stay awake anymore. Sad that Liquid lost but happy a Chinese team didn’t win.
I wish the meta has been a little more interesting, too many of the same heroes getting picked was boring.
I am sad too, Liquid was a great underdog story but OG is so composed and you really can't break them no matter how bad they take a game. Its basically what makes or breaks you, which is the lesson I've learned from watching the International. You have to have the discipline to ignore bad plays and fights and still retain that confidence. LGD couldn't do it, so they lost. I think that's the key to beating a lot of Chinese teams. You have to rattle them because a lot of them are arrogant and overconfident. Once you break their composure, they just break down completely. Like the third game vs. Liquid was just fucking sad. Liquid systematically and coldly picked them apart. The Wyvern completely nullified any chrono target and they worked around the chrono to murder their entire team. While void was helpless. Shadow Demon was murked so much he didn't have the souls to do shit. They basically forced them into a prison in which they could not escape. I mean, I think it was very arrogant of them to try and 'style' on Liquid. Shadow Demon requires to be ahead or equal, and if he can't do that, he's basically a waste. Which is exactly what happened. He was no threat at all.
Liquid just basically got outplayed with OG.
I think the problem is that the meta was figured out early on in the group stages and qualifiers, so people knew what worked and what didn't. At least we got to see a Meepo win for the first time on the Grand Finals. But not to worry, I'm sure in a year the meta will be completely different. That's what I love about DotA, the game keeps changing so its very difficult to stay on top.
