Lately, there's been quite a bit of hubbub about wether or not Indian Headdresses are okay to wear. Most people talking about the issue seem to lean not just against, but see it as tantamount to pulling a coon show on Amerindians.
Personally, I think people are seriously overreacting. From my understanding, the Indian War Bonnet is in many ways equivalent to a military uniform. Those who wear it in a serious context should have earned it, but those who wear it at a folk festival or at a Halloween party aren't being serious in the slightest. I don't think the bonnet should be seen as all that different from an army jacket or a royalty costume.
If these liberal whites care so much about Amerindians, they should study actual issues and push for some fuck-mothering infrastructure to be built on the reservations.
