There are lots of dumb people who think paying more means getting more. Nicholas Rekieta bought a 2080ti from a scalper for at least twice the price. Now he's begging for money to build a PC when RAM is so expensive. Some think he believes the higher prices (like x5) mean it's better. That's just how many retards with more money than brains tend to function.

Which has backfired on them spectacularly. Anecdotal, but in the last few years, open source contributions have been seen as a good thing amongst my peers to a bad thing - Now its just perceived as blatant resume scamming to have a bunch of random projects on your history. Years of consistent (and therefore assumed quality) contribution to a single project are now what they're looking at, and the Jeets fucking hate it when you just dismiss "One random pull to a random linux distro" when they're being interviewed, they look at you like you kicked their baby.

The arms race continues though, now they're trying to use AI to mass spam single repos, not to stack numbers but because they think sheer quantity of shitty pulls is the path to getting a maintainer title rather than just contributor. The situation will continue to deteriorate as long as jeets try to game the IT space.

Well, considering that they were off the coast of Sri Lanka and nowhere near Indian waters, the fact that India not only did nothing to ensure the Iranian's safety, but may not have even picked up on the fact that a US submarine was nearby and ready to sink it the moment it passed by means a deep loss of Izzat of course!
