This should honestly be a hanging offense. In a just world the "finders fee" for this sort of thing would be capped at 10% of the pre-tax salary and be required by law to be entirely transparent.

These fucking leeches don't do the work, but they get to sit there and suck up 80% of the money being paid? That's fucking ridiculous.

Considering being in the contract IT world for most of my professional life left me jobless for months on end, multiple times, I could not agree more. I often turned down job postings that would have paid me less than staying on unemployment did.

Unfortunately the way the industry is, the company that hires subcontractors is their employer technically. So they have to carry insurance for them, and cover any benefits required (even if just temps). Most staffing companies only charge 2-3x the wage tho, I don't think I've ever seen 4x.

The way that large companies shed liability and simultaneously screw over the people actually making their products should be criminal.. but they have deep pockets.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has revealed that his partner Shivon Zilis is half-Indian. Appearing on Zerodha founder Nikhil Kamath’s “WTF is?” podcast, Musk also disclosed that one of his sons with Zilis has the middle name “Sekhar,” inspired by Indian-American physicist and Nobel laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. “I'm not sure if you know this, but my partner Shivon is half Indian,” he said. “One of my sons with her, his middle name is Sekhar after Chandrasekhar.” The billionaire further spoke about Zilis’s family background, upbringing and adoption.


Musk On Zilis’s Indian Heritage​

Musk also shared some details about Zilis’s early life when Kamath asked where she grew up. “She grew up in Canada. She was given up for adoption when she was a baby. I think her father was like an exchange student at the university or something like that,” Musk said.

“I'm not sure the exact details, but you know it was kind of thing where I don't know, she was given up for adoption. But she grew up in Canada,” he added.

Zilis joined Musk’s AI company Neuralink in 2017 and is currently Director of Operations and Special Projects. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from Yale University.

Zilis has four children with Musk: twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia and son Seldon Lycurgus.

Musk Praises Indians​

Appearing on the latest episode of Kamath’s podcast, Musk also said that America has benefitted immensely from talented Indians.

“America has been an immense beneficiary of talent from India, but that seems to be changing now,” he said.

His remarks come at a time when the American dream for thousands of Indians is becoming uncertain due to increased US visa restrictions and policy unpredictability.

I've been lucky with ubers, I tend to get white people or Asians. Safer than taking the bus since all we hire are shitskins who don't want to follow road safety laws or follow schedules so their 20 minutes to an hour late and it's some how our fault and should leave "earlier". If I have to take a bus I pray to any gods that will listen that I make it safely to my destination. Doesn't matter if it's a quick 30 minute bus ride. These things will eventually kill a lot of citizens while driving a bus. If I can, I'll take the LRT. They tend to only put white people in charge of those.

I like how with Janitorial jobs in Canada they now ask for vocational training for the past five years or so.
That's common for temp agencies to get a ton of money compared to the temp worker. I got paid $10 an hour working for Brick for a day but they paid the company over $30 an hour for me to be there. I doubt things have changed much after two decades. I've also had three temp agencies not pay me for the days I worked and just claim I was never there. You should look into how bullshit temporary jobs are in Canada. Back in the day, not sure if it's still the case, but temporary jobs didn't have to be paid overtime so some security jobs would list you as such as they had you out for 12 hours a day and never had to pay out OT, some even tried to have you out for 24 hours.
