There social and political system is capitalism on steroids ,it's insane. It's interesting because I'm eastern european (former Yugoslavia) and the fall of yugoslavia has caused irritable damage to not just my family but the whole of eastern Europe. Looking out for your neighbour isn't a thing anymore,and similar to the Indian izzat (not as disgusting and prevese as the Indian izzat) everyone is hyper individualistic and only cares about their reputation and their families reputation. I've been outcasted from my family because I make them look "bad" ( because I've assimilated to western culture lol) seriously it shits me that my grandparents have been here for over 50 years and still can't speak english
I wouldn't really call ex-yu eastern european, maybe central or southern depending on which ex-yu country you mean. There is something of a phenomenon in these countries where the communist regime was unfair and stole from people so much that it turned entire generations of people (gen-x primarily in case of ex-yu) so that they turned to the polar opposite, and worship western neoliberal capitalism like it's a god and anyone who even suggests that maybe selling out your entire country to western corporations is a dirty commie. Just because the communists were "maybe we shouldn't sell out everything, like give up our currency to the control of unelected EU bureaucrats, and we shouldn't destroy our manufacturing and small businesses because of forced globalism" and so the gen-x hated the commies so much they said "fuck you, we're gonna do everything exactly the opposite" even if it was fucking retarded. As it seemed to be going pretty good immediately after the adoption of democracy and the use of the Euro (which lasted 5-10 years) as the banks were pumping up the economy by giving out almost free money and so the honey was flowing. This made the gen-x trust the EU and US even more, and so they sold out the country even more. Then when the west started shoving leftist propaganda into our country, most of them bought it or were hit by it blindsighted. There was such a feeling of "the west can never do us wrong" that resistance to leftism, LGBT, climate change, open borders and shit like that coming from the west was almost nonexistent, and anyone suggesting that was also labeled their favorite insult, a commie. They had essentially become what the commies called the religious right, sheep - in some way, they are so religiously devoted to their neoliberal capitalism that they sacrificed their children to the altair of globalist bankers and pedophile faggots.
When shit started to hit the fan in the EU and after the 07-08 crisis (which never went away it seems til this day) they were so used to this neoliberal capitalism, they had lived it their entire lives, and now they are in their 40s-50s and now they are like old people, cemented in their ways, and nothing will change them. So instead of learning and realizing that maybe they shouldn't have given up their country to globalist EU dictators (which have turned out to be not much better than the old commies they were replacing) they double and triple down and adopt insane coping mechanisms to cope with why everything is turning to shit around them. They have the best economic system, they're free from commies, shouldn't things be going great? Why is everything still shit? Must be those EU commies, or it must be the lack of religion in our children, or it must be our racism and xenophobia! So let's protest about the EU (oh wait, that does nothing) or let's get ultra religious and go to mass every week and preach about how their religion is great and how religious they are (lol). Stuff like that. But at the same time, stuff is turning to shit, inflation is high, banks don't loan you money any more, businesses are failing and closing, everyone is getting more poor, the EU opened its borders and brought in millons of niggers, sandniggers, indians, and other forms of monkeys that are now raping and killing your women and children, you're being painted as an evil white man in public, nobody trusts nobody any more, everyone is only after money, more people turn to illegal stuff and scamming, drug use increases, and so on. So now you have created a low-trust society full of backwards people, religious zealots of all flavors and sides constantly warring with each other, everyone just looking out for themselves and their short term profit. The old commies came back to power, now they call themselves something else like Freedom, they all love the EU, love bureaucracy and state power, love taxes, love becoming EU commissioners and bureaucrats. So the old beast is back in power, but now with rainbows and an unaccountable Euro banking pyramid scheme.
That's how I see the turn from communism to democracy to shithole at least for this particular ex-yu country I live in.
It's possible that India was something better in the past, but a runaway reaction to an overly dictatorial communist system turned them into extreme ancaps, and so it was all downhill from there, a runaway reaction for hundreds to thousands of years, that altered their own genetics into subhuman unrecognizable garbage.
If a country is still early in this runaway phase, it might still be salvaged if the cycle is cut thoroughly and with much effort, but it doesn't look good, as for that to occur we'd first need the power to do so, which we don't have as long as we're part of the EU dictatorship and their ponzi money.
