The Internet. That opinion of India comes directly from our view of them through the lens of film, magazine, books. No school here in the US ever had quotes from great British minds who had to go there and how disgusting it was and how much they despised the Indian people in our history classes. Hell, I don't even really remember studying the British Raj. During COVID I remember getting suggested a bunch of those fuckin Indian cooking channels with these old fucks slathering their food in bags of curry spices. They managed to find some clean places to do their cooking, but they ended up showing just how dirty India still fucking is. Then they got arrogant and fucked themselves over as low-IQ dipshits tend to do.

No need to believe, there was literally documented how fucking incompetent the plant workers were. Even before the disaster, there were dozens safety incidents noted where people would get exposed to chemicals. in one case someone removed their gas mask when a leak happened and they died.

While the actual MIC leak was ongoing, they decided to just pause and have a little tea break

“By 11:30 p.m., workers in the MIC area were feeling the effects of minor exposure to MIC gas and began to look for a leak. One was found by 11:45 p.m. and reported to the MIC supervisor on duty at the time. The decision was made to address the problem after a 12:15 a.m. tea break, and in the meantime, employees were instructed to continue looking for leaks. The problem was discussed by MIC area employees during the break.”

they also willingly silenced the alarm meant to alert the surrounding public while they kept the internal plant alarm active. Thanks to this typical jeet selfish mentality, I don’t think any workers in the plant ended up dying.

But per India it’s the actually big bad western corporations who’s 100% at fault for this disaster, even when it was pretty much all owned and operated by Indians (their government even had a majority stake in the local subsidiary Union Carbide Corp India UCCI ). They even arrested the CEO of the main parent corp Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) and tried to make him a scape-goat for their negligence to save face. In an earlier audit two years before, these exact issues were even identified by UCC and they did nothing about them.

The aftermath Bhopal disaster has been if not one of the largest scams ever redeemed by India. In the following investigation there was a massive conflict of interest since the government of India took on seeking damages and claims for the victims but decided not to sue the local Indian owned subsidiary UCCI (which they were invested in), but rather the the larger International parent company. They also performed all the accident investigation themselves ( blocking the UCC from even investigating the site and fining their negligence ). No surprise that they found 100% UCC guilty. The only true crime I think they are guilty of is trusting Indians to run the place. And when they paid $470 million in damages in 1991 settleing the case, it was pretty much stolen by the government, with the last of the claims being forced to be paid out by their supreme court in 2006. Even after the ruling and payout, India is still trying to milk it for all its worth. There have been multiple attempts to try and charge the CEO into the 2000s (including one under the crimes against humanities laws) and there there are still calls to this day for Dow ( who bought UCC and has nothing to do with the accident) to further compensate victims.

Finally, It's probably just a coincidence, but I cant help but notice that the tank responsible ( which was excavated and just left there in the aftermath) bears a striking resemblance to another equally dangerous apex Indian predator...

Regarding the topic of dowries being paid by the woman to the husband, I remembered this old video by Polymatter discussing why 75% of Indian women are unemployed.

He doesn't call it izzat by name, since no one knew that word up until a week ago, but he does mention at 4:07 that women aren't allowed to work by their families since them being out of the house opens them up to claims of them acting in sexually dishonorable ways when not under the vigilance of their male relatives, lowering the entire family's sense of izzat, and ruining their marriage prospects.

One might argue about the long term consequences of female participation in the labour force in western countries regarding marriage and other matters, but it's interesting to see how much izzat shapes the economy of the country itself, especially when you compare it to similar neighbours like Bangladesh. From that perspective, women paying men dowries during marriage is them covering for their own living expenses since they can't make any money to support themselves.

Looking at a map by states, it's interesting to see the gangetic belt at the north of the country dragging down the average by raw population numbers, and what I can best describe as southeastern Dravidian states with higher than average figures. I suppose this makes sense with claims that izzat is a stronger force in the north, though I wouldn't be well equipped enough to judge the veracity of such statements.

Also interesting point he brings up is the elasticity of labor being near zero in the country, which I guess also helps explain why women are being kept out of the labour force. There aren't enough jobs for men as is, so including women would only make it worse, especially considering the humiliation men would feel if they got out-earned by women and the ensuing violence afterwards (as seen by the father who killed her tennis academy running daughter).

Overall good video, goes into the specifics of Indian labor law and general unemployment rates. Would recommend for anyone wanting to catch up on the general state of their economy.

If you read the article as it currently stands, you'll see that it says more or less the same thing that our Izzat Feature does: izzat is a zero-sum honor system where actions are motivated, not by a universal standard of right or wrong, but by punishing insults and currying favours.

The difference is, the Wikipedia article tries to emphasize the currying favours side of izzat (with carefully chosen language like "The idea of reciprocity (in friendship)" and "It is required, for example, that a person goes to any lengths to come to the assistance of those who had previously helped them in their time of need"), and also inserts Feminism into the opening paragraphs for no real reason, other than to assure leftist readers that what they are reading is halal and not haram, and that any bad feelings you might get from reading this can be ascribed to problematic attitudes towards women, and not Jeets being fucking crazy.

To prevent another @Headdot Reddot scenario: in the compendium/encyclopoodia being created it should be noted that all of those countries, especially Pakistan and Bangladesh, are the same subhuman jeetland as India. A little prevention for those animals trying to ingratiate itself by mimicking us.

Hadn't Jeetrosoft already started using Indians in their call centers by 2012 too? So the American public was partially familiar with hearing some jeet bobble head his way through a phone call with tech support, which was perfect for the scammers of India who started flooding the globe with scam calls.
