Jesus wasn't really a Jew. Judaism as we know it is a modern religion, its origins trace back to Rabbinical Judaism which began around 1800 years ago. No religion was really like a modern religion back then. In fact they were more like the freakish shit we see in India (the Hindu garbage.) There were temples and statues of gods which people worshipped and made sacrifice's to. The exception being that Judean's didn't worship an idol depiction of their god but they performative elements remained.
Jesus did study the Hewbrew scriptures, however, not living in Judea itself he very well could've read the greek translation of it. We know Philo of Alexandria read this version so its likely many did as well, especially in areas near Greek cities. Like I mentioned, translating the old word to "Jew" for these people is wrong and there are a few translations of the New Testament that correct for this (calling them Judeans.) the groups that studied and followed the Hebrew scriptures were closer to a philosophical movement in those days, like stoics.
When Josephus is sent to Galilee at the start of the revolt against Rome he notes that the temples there often had animal depictions on them. This was a big no no he lamented. This suggests that people from Jerusalem didn't visit these places much, let alone the "head office" of the main temple (which many didn't consider the holy city--many felt Tyre was the holy city.) Philo of Alexandria (around 30-40 AD) considered the story of the garden of Eden to be an allegory, Eve representing human emotions. Many later Hebrew scholars didn't agree with Philo, of course.
After a major riot in Alexandria around 40 AD with the Greek population, which is to say the Greek guilds that likely leaned towards worshipping the Greco god system, Philo is sent to Rome to testify to Caligula. We find out that Roman's know very little about these people, he asked Philo if its true he doesn't eat pork. We also learn the Greeks sent a representative on behalf of the guides (IIRC they were the actors, the whores and some other important guild to Greeks of the time) that the riot started over use of the theater and because the Alexandrian Hebrews didn't allow a statue of Caligula to be placed in their holy space. The Greek also stated that these people made their children "pass through the fire" which is a reference to sacrificing kids to Moloch.
Philo denies this and its unlikely the group he associated with did still do this. However, its not impossible that other nearby tribes still did do such things. My point being is that Judaism wasn't a monolithic religion at the time, it was many many many tribes all doing their own thing and in many cases not even using the original Hebrew scriptures but the Greek translations.
But what would a Jeet know? Jeets aren't even at the level of sanitation these ancient people were at 2000 years ago.
