From what I understand its up to each individual police force. What'll probably happen in places where they actually want to enforce it, is they'll perform some inspections on how people store their restricted rifles/pistols, since they don't need a warrant to make you show them AFAIK, and then if they see weapons on the new ban lists they'll either confiscate them or if enough time has passed, start charging people. From there I guess fear would get people to hand in or deactivate their firearms, or at least that's what they're banking on. Who knows. Maybe they're just relying on the tried and true Canadian custom of everybody rolling over backwards and doing exactly what we are told. realistically, it was a motion for the Liberal party to pull more voters in Quebec. this whole disaster started when the liberals started falling in the polls. what actually saved them was removing their figurehead and installing a different one thats virtually the same. also this jeet didnt even make up this confiscation. it was in place before he was appointed, which makes it even more mind boggling how he didnt prepare for his own position.
