The only way to stop it realistically is to actually demand for stronger labour rights and regulations. They have to make it difficult for businesses to hire foreigners over locals.

The Japanese model of requiring migrants to have a working VISA sponsored by the employer and work full time in order to stay in the country, and have it annually renewed on the basis of Japanese language fluency is the best approach rather than blanket immigration quotes. Japan has the lowest unemployment rate in a developed nation for a reason, they're hiring every Japanese person available because it's easier than sponsoring a foreigner.

Which is why it's really absurd when you hear Western countries importing millions of migrants and their unemployment are 6% to 20%. They literally couldn't be bothered to hire the local citizens, they'd rather just hire the foreigner.

This is where Elon Musk differs from his Chinese, Korean, and Japanese counterparts. Elon Musk will hire the desperate Indian IT over sponsoring and training American citizens.
