Most Indian doctors are educated in the countries they migrated to so its not some fake diploma scheme. I believe the reason is that Indians are obsessed with prestige and doctors are prestigious in India. The lack of intelligence with Indians is not their capacity to problem solve or even their work ethic.

Firstly I doubt any nation could have an average IQ that low, I was raised by a man with an IQ in the low 80s and people underestimate just how low that, for example anyone sub 82 is considered too stupid for even the simplest jobs in the US Army. I I could believe 90, definitely though, inbreeding is massive there.
That being said, becoming a medical professional in a developed country is a extremely motivating prize to people in a poor country, so many pursue it if they can.

To be fair, IQ tests also test for the skill of taking tests. India has a ton of megacities, but that is just a fraction of the 1.4B indians. Over a billion are in tiny premodern villages with no formal schooling. Those perform terribly on IQ tests for the simple reason they don't test well. Still, there is a strong correlation on IQ and performing well in western jobs. You want people capable of performing well in the abstraction of an intelligence test, because you need the same kind of abstract reasoning to perform well in the western job market.

I can second this, I've always dreaded math but I've got a relatively high IQ. Like in that other post, national IQ statistics are very hit-or-miss depending on how they're conducted & the sample size, and then there's the point-of-view aspect to it: When someone in America's born and has an IQ of 70 by the time they're 18, it's fairly certain they have a disorder of some sort which affects their social skills as well because they had all the tools and the environment necessary to foster intellectual growth, compare that to a Nigerian farmer out in the desert with an IQ of 75 and the Nigerian will almost definitely have developed social skills even if he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
