My info is slightly out of date. A high court in India determined that possessing CP without the intent to transmit it didn't violate India's CP laws. Since September, their supreme court has overturned this decision. I wasn't aware it was overturned.

Just a question: What are the most prominent Indian ethnicities that immigrate to Western countries?

Gujaratis, Tamils, Telugus, and Punjabis. Followed by a grab bag of Rajputs, Maliyalis (from Kerala), Indian Bengalis (less insufferable than Bengalis from Bangladesh), and everyone else.

From what I gather, most of them are Punjabis (85% of South Asians in British Columbia being Punjabi Sikhs in 2007), Tamils (There being about 1.9M of them in the US, or about 37% of the entire Indian population of the country) and Telugus representing about 25% of Indians in America.

I think regular Hindi speakers don't appear as a separate ethnic group but they probably account for most of the difference.

Punjabis will speak a reasonable amount of Hindi.

Telugus and Tamils and Maliyalis will speak the literal bare minimum if none at all. They HATE North India. Bengalis.... Enough to get by.

Remember, they all hate each other to varying degrees.

They might tell you that they come from this part of the country or belong to said caste, but all of them act, smell, and look similar. Yeah, I, thankfully, do have access to a functioning and clean toilet. The statistics show that the majority of Indian households, even the rural ones, have a toilet now, but I'm willing to bet serious money on the fact that most of them won't meet basic hygiene standards. Heck I won't be surprised if most of them barely count as toilets.

While on that topic, I should talk about hygiene standards here. High hygiene standards are seen as a negative here. The fact that I would refuse to urinate on the side of the road in a comparatively secluded place, and would choose to hold it in for an extra half hour until I find an actual toilet instead is seen as a weakness, sort of. Low hygiene standards are normal here, and I'm saying this as someone who has a doctor as his dad, so this isn't even exclusive to poor people...

Just remember there's a difference between Niggers and Black people, and so there's absolutely a difference between Jeets and Indians. I 100% absolutely want to hear your stories. Stuff we wouldn't understand but is "just how it is" would be fun stuff, for example.

About the second one, I'm quite out-of-touch with politics here, the few things I know are what my dad tells me. His viewpoint is that the current ruling party is Hindu supremacist and is trying to eradicate all other religions, and they employ censorship and other dirty tactics to win the elections. However he also has some weird crackpot theories like distrust in Western media and the belief that the 1st world only looks good because Western media tells people to look at it that way... So the way I see it, both sides of politics here are their own brand of shit with small ounces of truth in them. I know the same could be said about pretty much everywhere but it's worse than usual here, of course.

Unrelated, but I fucking hate using the term "developing". It sort of makes it look like life here will be good in the near future but that's just blatantly untrue. The term "3rd world" perfectly conveys the depressing experience of living here.
