Found what appears to be a Bangladeshi meme page on facebook that is dedicated to being racist against Indians. I find it incredible because I'm not sure the average poster in this thread would draw much of a distinction between Bangladesh and India, but this page seems to get a ton of engagement. I thought Bangladesh and India had something of a tactical alliance against Pakistan, but they are still making "lol pajeet" jokes. I guess this is the South Asian equivalent of "I might be black but at least I'm not a nigger."

That makes sense, but I thought the history of India supporting Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan might have overridden that. Guess not. Other piece of history I'm aware of is that in 1987 India invaded Sri Lanka, nominally to support the (Hindu) Tamil rebels against the (Buddhist) Sinhalese government. They expected the Tamils to be grateful, but instead the Tamils and the Sinhalese immediately teamed up against India and together they chased the Indians out. Which is funny to me because there wasn't even a sectarian reason for it, the Sri Lankan Tamils were just like "India fucking sucks bro, we'd rather be ruled by Buddhists if this is the only other option."

The engagement might related to the old government collapsing during the protests/uprising from this summer reached its peak and saw the Prime Minister fleeing to India, if I'm not mistaken I believe this Primer Minister and her government were pro-India and India didn't really support the uprising but rather said that it hoped things went back to normal, meaning, stop chimping out and keep getting fucked by the government.

I'm sure that position by India irked more than one Bangladeshi.

Does India even have a single neighbor who doesn't despise them at this point? I think Nepal also used to be very pro India but has been leaning more to China in recent years. Now that I think about it, it's incredible how good the Indian government is at alienating countries that should be its allies.

IIrc they only supported their independence to screw over Pakistan cause it would break the small country up even more. Bangladeshis were among the better fighters and most devoted muslims so it was a blow to the country. It's been a while but a Pakistani friend explained to me that it was a national shame that the Pakistani government supposedly screwed the Bangladeshis over so they eventually separated when they were apparently among the most patriotic Muslims. India was able to influence the situation by stoking the flames already there, but it was gonna happen anyways and they could never be allies afterwards because Bangladeshis remember all the muslims killed during the partitioning of india and pakistan. Their issue was the new government they were under and they knew India's wasn't better. They felt they weren't represented equally in the government or treated well, meanwhile India massacres its muslim and christian populace whenever they feel like riotting. Most people surrounding India are smart enough to know that the enemy of their enemy isn't their friend, especially indian hindus (even if you're hindu, the sects that come about in india are somehow more demonic than the stuff you see outside of the country).
From what I've encountered, I think most indian interference in other countries is just them jumping in as things are already erupting then expecting some form of reward or gratitude towards them for "aiding" them. But it's just this meme

If Israel managed to take over the middle east you just know the hindus of india will act like they supported the whole thing as an integral part of the whole affair

Yes those damn Germans! Yes, it was leaning heavily pro-China during the Nepali civil war, where ironically, China supported the Royalist side. The war ended with a peace treaty that led to the abolishment of the monarchy, subsequent governments have reinforced their ties with China. In fact, I think China has been violating Nepal's territory for a while and the government of Nepal tends to downplay it. Mind the Maoist rebels were not supported by China nor India, but by the Maoist branch of the Communist party of India, which currently leads a low level insurgency against the India government since 1967.
