Merit in Izzat is determined by what lengths you will go to to achieve a goal, with competence merely being one path. It often becomes a secondary path, as printing a degree that says you're qualified to be a jet pilot is just as good as being able to actually fly a jet in the eyes of Izzat. In other words, Izzat selects for appearance over authentic merit or morality.
But in India, the problem is not the point. The point is the problem being exposed and the perceived insult to izzat from exposing the problem.
Reminds me a lot of how The Last Psychiatrist talks about narcissism; the narcissistic injury comes from their projected self-perception being contradicted by apparent facts and other people's views, and this is what causes the narcissist to lash out. Plus a lot of stuff about transference of meaning from actual reality to symbols and fetishization thereof; somewhat relevant to the idea that faking a credential is better than just having the skills it is supposed to accredit, but there's also very much a link into sexuality. I don't have a particular link to sum this up, it's basically the thesis of his entire blog.

Jugaad is seen as a clever workaround using limited resources. Indians frame it as being some profound philosophical aspect about navigating their culture. But what it can be more accurately described as is having no scruples and exploiting things for your own gain. For example, with the water pipe problem, you contact a cousin of a cousin, you bribe the right official and now you can have a new water pipe connected to your house. Jugaad is celebrated among Indians as being resourceful or inventive, as you're beating the system with your own ingenuity. Pulling off a 'clever' jugaad scheme is a way to earn yourself Izzat.

But when your jugaad doesn't play out the way you want, it's a loss of Izzat because you look stupid. Izzat is about the ends, not the means. It doesn't matter if your jugaad is ripping off a charity or scamming a dementia ridden grandmother of her life savings. If it achieves the ends you wanted, then you're celebrated.

As for the cow shit worship thing, I honestly have no fucking idea. It's probably some autistic hangover from Hinduism about the sacredness of cows or whatever. As I said before, you are permitted to get away with just about anything provided you can win Izzat disputes. Maybe someone starting eating cow shit and murdered everyone who criticized him, so here we are.
Quick aside, I know Jews get accused of all the shit indians do, but there's a big difference, and it is why Indians have a hard on for us.

For Jews, due to the millennia of persecution, the Jews have developed a parallel system, as well as we need the same things non Jews also need (Doctors, tradesmen, lawyers, etc), add in the fact that historically, if the gentile population faced too much competition from the Jews they would kick them out or blame them for their problems. So the Jews made their own schools, hospitals, training centers, etc. And also would hire other Jews, as they know they can trust them (for example, you know that the Jewish carpenter you let into your house for work won't use the knowledge he gained to steal your valuables and burn your house down when the next pogrom happens). This "parallel society" allowed us to become very successful in Western, enlightened states, because when the barriers were removed, we just "reintergrated" back into society. The indians see what the Jews did and assume that we act like they do with Jugaad and Izzat, but like @GluttonousManSlob points out, it's all short-term. We didn't "cheat the system"; we "played the system" by its rules. It's why Israel, despite being smaller and poorer than most other nations and lacking resources, can punch above its weight class, but India barely can install toilets. The indians/people of the region cannot grasp that honesty and hard work go much further than Jugaad and Izzat. The arabs (and most muslims) think the same way, for them its all about perception not power. It's why Israel, the USA, and the West could win wars, but they never can. Do take notice, when countries invite more of this shit into their lands, ever notice how they no longer care about actual power (number of tanks, how good are tactics etc) but the perception?

I will say this, the issues for Chinese in the West come from the CCP for the most part. Not really inherent to East Asians in general. With Indians, it's inherent to the ethnicity, TPD.
That guy's comics in general are gems, another amazing display of izzat.

Post explaining Izzat concept
So what I'm hearing here is that it'd be incredibly easy to goad Indians into chimping out without coming off as hostile to third parties. It's interesting, I wonder if someone could use this to their own benefit against Indians.

I had to google this after I read about it, because it seemed to explain so much about the jeetery I have seen first hand that I thought it might just be a troll post, but it's even got a wiki page.

It will destroy any system that assumes good faith.
I think this will define the future of western countries. I think racism is making a comeback, and racial consciousness will become more important in the future. I think racism played a pseudo-darwinian function in the past, safe-guarding other races against this kind of behavior, by enforcing good faith systems only presume good faith for the in-group.

Had an izzat moment at a gas station today

Some hood black people were arguing with the Indian cashier about how he didn't put out the wet floor signage after mopping, concerned someone might get hurt.

One of the black guys asked me my opinion and I agreed that it is a potential danger to the customer and that he legally has to put the sign out. The Indian got visibly annoyed that I wouldn't take his side. It turns out he did put the sign out, but all the way in the corner, nowhere near the wet area and in a spot that's very easy to miss. He probably just has it there all the time just in case he mops to cover his ass.

This izzat thing really recontextualizes every interaction I've ever had with Indians.

Yes, just accuse them of being wrong, and when they "bite back" just be calm and provide simple evidence proving your point and how youre not at that level and they will chimp.

Think about it. There are countless East Asian cultural artifacts the average person enjoys. Tea, anime, chinese pottery, hong kong action movies, japanese cars, taiwanese semiconductors, korean esports, etc. Now think about india, literally what have they intentionally produced that the rest of the world collectively recognizes for its excellence? Anything good in their cuisine is stolen from Persia or invented overseas in places like England. Their movies are excessively long and incapable of subtlety.

You could never meet a single eastern asian or jeet and yet still know the character of their respective races just by looking at their cultural products.

like I've peered into forbidden knowledge. It makes too much sense for it to be bullshit and it plays into the social schemas I've seen
That's what the internet was for and what modern academia lacks today, Unfiltered ways to share ideas, trial of fires and tick as many boxes to see what makes the most sense. This post really took all the Indian memes and put them into one unifying theory. Shit hasn't been this solid since calculus.

Saars! The news of being badness in regards to India doing the needful with our butter cookies of the Christmas times is not just being the rumor, saars! It is being the factful of truthfulness! My eyes vision is having been redeeming this atrocity of unforgivableness and disgusts my personally, saars! I am doing the needful and am bringings you the evidence proof, saars!

Some of you may be like me and subvocalize every word you read, and it drives me crazy to learn a new word and not know how it's pronounced.

My first guess was that izzat sounds like "ee-zat" (rhymes with "free hat"), but I looked it up and it's pronounced more like "is-utt" (rhymes with "rizz mutt" :null: ).

Don't be a fool and mispronounce it when trying to own a jeet or you might actually give them izzat by being wrong.

More to read on this adjacent topic of honour killings in India and the casteist nature of it. In India, caste pervades all aspects of Indian social life. An Indian only thinks in terms of what his caste is and what the caste of the person he is interacting with is. Since India is still very much a feudal society, the concept of izzat “honour” makes sense. The West embraced the highest stage of capitalism long ago, and these feudal concepts are beyond outdated and nonsensical there, but not in India. The concept of vendetta or blood feud also makes sense when you realise that Indians are primitive tribal creatures. Various gens of Native Americans also had a concept of blood feud, and many groups in India such as Afghans still do.

Why the fuck is it spelled like that then? You'd think they'd figure out how the alphabet works after getting invaded by bongs. I knew it was going to be some bullshit like this.

This bastardization of the simple act of spelling forces me to deduct 100,000 Izzat from all Indians.

You know I generally think there's a lot more illegals in this country and subhuman Indians because I was at a mall I used to go to when I was a kid and it was nothing but hood rats specs and Indian shop owners selling disgusting material and used to all be nice shop selling stuff for families and nice restaurants disgusting

The point is this system exists and it's had real, serious consequences for generations.
This explains how the greatest state appointed medical minds in India could with a straight face say that someone could survive on nothing but the energy of the universe (Inedia or breatharianism). The cases mentioned on Wikipedia smell of Izzat. Doctors saying it could be possible but refusing to publish. Supposed strict tests that were filmed but all of a sudden the patient is out of frame. Straight up mentioning influential protectors.
Edamaruku stated that the regular gargling and bathing activities were not sufficiently monitored and accused Jani of having had some "influential protectors" who denied Edamaruku permission to inspect the project during its operation.
Izzat fills in every hole about India culture which seemed odd and I had previously chalked up to their caste system. Mainly explaining how after moving to countries like the US and Canada they still act with this bizarre superiority yet also miserly and trashy behavior.
Also makes the fact they have nuclear power plants (seven stations) and weapons utterly terrifying since there is no way those things stay maintained under this concept. Just imagining some manager asking Rajish if he did the safety test before the do a scheduled SCARM (emergency shut down) test. He lies to save face and then an emergency valve stays open so rather than the water going into a holding pool it gets ejected outside as if it was a real SCRAM and contaminating the nearby water table.

You could absolutely weaponize Izzat against Indians. You see, in Izzat, the issue only happens when an Indian is exposed. Scamming someone and getting away with it is righteous. Being caught or having your jugaad exposed is unrighteous. Merely pointing out bad behaviour or criticizing them is seen as an attack on their Izzat.

However, the best and most pragmatic approach to dealing with this system is enforcing impartiality. Hit them hard with anti-conspiracy laws. Izzat absolutely qualifies as a cultural conspiracy. Singapore was able to reform itself thanks to brutally rooting out corruption.
In February of this year, Hindutva supporting indians (especially from the Indian state of Maharashtra, the birth place of Hindutva) were extremely upset and vitriolic because one of their revered feudal Hindu ruler Sambhaji was found to be a mass rapist. This proves that indians have no concept of good or bad, for them whatever exposes their criminality is bad and whatever hides it is good.

Fascinating stuff. I wonder if the Albanian blood-feud culture is related to this; there are a lot of Muslims there.

It completely explains why people from the country who invented the word "karma" would be so misbehaved.

Seriously.

I mean KF blows my mind again. India is where holding an empty snack packet is bad karma and tossing the packet away and littering from you removes it. Raping is not bad karma. Cheating is not bad karma. Lying is not bad karma. Scamming is not bad karma. Shitting outside is not bad karma. Shitting on the train tracks until the train derails and killing people is not bad karma.

It's getting caught that is "bad karma".

The thing WE think of as "karma's a bitch" is a Western White idea.
