I thought we'd try something different for this thread.
The Guardian is the main centre left broadsheet in the UK. It is known for high quality investigative reporting and being part of the lefts 'establishment' in the past 20 years that has come to mean a strong undercurrent of PC sensibility.
As I said the guardian does some really excellent factual and investigative work and with the closure of the Independent is probably the best source for well written unbiased articles in a national paper.
Their opinion pieces on the other hand are some of the most dishonest, vacuous, hand wringing rubbish in the press and are widely ridiculed even amongst their own readership. This curious contrast between the quality of their factual and opinion pieces has only got worse with the growth of their online sites and the addition of some truly awfulbloggers columnists.
Some of their opinion stuff is still well thought out and interesting (I disagree with Harris politically but respect his work as genuinely thoughtful and sincere) but much of it is utter dross (Jessica valenti)
I thought in this thread we could share the most ridiculous of these pieces- bonus points if the guardian mods have had to heavily censor the comments or close them early.
