I've been reading the original GK thread and this thread over like the past week and a half.

I'm captivated and also horrified, since this dude has probably been to plenty of conventions in Baltimore.

I may have been in the same building as this dude.

Duke Nukem actually is supposed to be so over the top it's clear he's trying too hard to be badass. He's meant to be a total joke. One of his most-oft-quoted lines; "It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum" isn't even original, it's a nerdy reference to the old sci-fi film They Live word for word when the main character shoots up a bank full of skull aliens. He doesn't need defending, because he is designed to have the piss taken out of him as he takes the piss out of everything he's modeled after.

He doesn't understand parody, that's the thing.

Which is worrying, as the objectification of women in the DN games is uncomfortably similar to Golden Stooge's own stance on how to treat women.

Like, isn't that one game; Otemedius Excellent, literally just scantily clad schoolgirl age "pilots" flying around in a bullet hell shooter?

Hell, I'm still surprised he's never heard of a certain anime (ha ha like I'd give it way to you, Jay, we know you're out there) that would be right up his alley given the age of the main characters and the existence of at least an English dub of the first season.

He's certainly not helping his case. Hell, when he ranted about how his Christmas story was taken out of context, everything he said was exactly something a pedo would say. I would like to think that Jay really isn't into that shit but all the evidence is against him.
