House Geis seem unwilling to part with old tech. In one dA journal Jay mentions that he and his brother win a vidya competition when they were kids and his brother still used the PC they bought with the prize money, almost ten years later.
There's also a bunch of journals where Jay tries to set up a Windows 95 emulator because it's his preferred OS.
Wat? Damn! He's like Chris, Nick Bate, Jace and MylarballoonLover all rolled into one.

I think it is. His boss wanted 8+ per day and Jay only managed to do 8 on a couple of occasions. His coworkers were doing a minimum of 8 per day and his boss wanted him to fall into line with the rest. He claimed it was physically impossible to do more than 8.
He can barely keep his OWN computer running. How can his boss expect him to fix 8 computers for other people per day?

Can someone give me a summary of what has happen recently? I haven't followed him since the middle of the first thread.

Thanks Sir Gilded for this glorious bounty of the stream. He says he might write up another chapter of The Ultimate Quest for Glory as a bonus so that will be fun. I wonder if he will consider his increased view count is from his "fans" .

I take it that was the first OS he used as a kid with computers and his autism won't let him use anything else. I imagine it causes all sorts of headaches when he was going around trying to fix more modern computers and he had no clue what all this new technology was. I imagine his mom thought it was impressive that Jay was always messing around with his computer to make it as terrible as possible and that's why she recommended him for the job.

Shit. Win 95 is better than Win 8.

Speaking of 9/11
Fun fact: As of July 2014, Jay did not know what 9/11 was. He said he saw two burning buildings in the news and "thought it would all blow over in a week."
While the whole thing only took 102 minutes to blow over, he spent the last 13 years not knowing what 9/11 actually was.
This bothers me a bit since I am younger than Jay and I don't even live in the US (hell, I don't even live in an English-speaking country) and yet I've always known what 9/11 was. For a guy who likes to act like he's an intellectual he's pretty dumb.

Also lol at "uni-race" bs, he doesn't understand anything about genetics and evolutionary biology and seems to think that race (which is a pretty shaky term in itself) = skin colour. Plus he completely misunderstood the biological meaning of population. ...which really doesn't surprise anyone, but still. He dumbdumb.

His computer is from 2008. It was specced for gaming when he got it, but it's out of date now and it consistently has issues.
Guess it is either XP or Vista, but XP runs better for gaming for sure. My laptop is Windows 7 but was probably a Vista in 2009 and I got the laptop in January 2010 and Windows 7 was already installed. I think was a Vista originally as it has no webcam eventhough the model had the option to have a webcam. My laptop can work on games but no games like 'Skyrim', work on Sims 3 but will lag and touch pad will overheat.

Here in Canada they announced the attacks on the PA when I was in high school. Everyone knew it was a huge event back then.

I'd pity him if he weren't such a douchebag.

Jay said his 2008 PC could run Skyrim perfectly.

Maybe if it has newer parts, but on its own? I don't believe him.
I'm pretty shore* that he said he replaced the graphics card at one stage. He wants to do it again, thinks it will fix a bunch of problems.

*I'm not an exceptional individual, I just can't stop the 'pretty shore' thing from the Kai thread.

Jay's "uncanny valley" diagram indicates that he doesn't find "photorealistic" vidya characters visually appealing.

Cartoons and squeaky rubber toys look better to him.
Maybe he actually prefers newer games on the minimum graphics settings?

I'm not super knowledgeable about computer hardware, but on my old PC, upgrading the graphics card and nothing else only served to severely bottleneck my computer when trying to play more demanding games. I could be wrong about his case, but I'm still not buying his story.

Yeah I had a PC from around that time that had like two video cards in there and and ran Skyrim at the best settings. Although it was an expensive PC for the time. Don't even ask what I paid for my current PC.
Makes me wonder how expensive Jay's PC was, considering he says he can run Skyrim perfectly.

Why should Jay care if he see everybody else like NPC's?

This boy has been playing too much vidya for his own good.

Motherfucker, now I have a mental image of the Pyrite Princess jerking off to Time Commando.

The shitty graphics, the misogyny, the fact that the protagonist wears shitty golden armor; the parallels are just too strong.

He prefers what he sees in the mirror best, eh?
I wish I could shoop things because I would make the most convincing-est girl!Jay photoshop I could, then show it to him and see what he thinks.

I don't know why I just had this mental picture of GK and Pixyteri together. I mean she is into rough stuff, right?
