I couldn't stop laughing at the point where our epic action hero whines that walking two and a half miles gives him "blisters atop other blisters" /

Wait... hasn't he bragged before about how he was a beloved track star in high school? (Might've been cross country, but the basic point still stands.) How would one go from a sport centered around running to getting blisters after 2.5 miles? I mean, I'm not in the shape I was when I played soccer, but even now my flat-footed self could do that without foot trauma.

Wearing proper (or at least harder) shoes after a period of exclusively wearing trainers can cause blisters.

Only time I got blisters upon blisters was when I was 8, and I went to Six Flags in shoes without socks. Got splashed with one of the water rides when going across a bridge, and wet feet in sockless shoes is utter hell. Needless to say, I wasn't a very smart 8 year old.

Blisters are easily caused by improper footwear. So either A) He wears the wrong shoes, B) he wears the wrong socks-- if they bunch up it can cause blistering in no time, C) we're overanalyzing a small detail that is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Or, as he's demonstrated many times, he has a huge habit of using a lot of hyperbole!

D) There were no medkits for him to walk into along the way

I like to think his recent departure from work was due to that massive manifesto of complaints that he sent his employers. I'd love to see that.

how'd you find and and wow that was quick. so much for the whole "I have important business to attend to" thing. I'm also curious what his family thinks of that. Their son finally got off his ass and got a job then quit because he's lazy and people probably made fun of him.
If I'm right, his mother at least will be happy.

It seems to me that GK's parents have one son each that they're more close to. GK's dad is in a classic car club, and GK's brother has a 92 Firebird and now works selling cars. He's also got rid of his elf prince haircut.

GK is a momma's boy. She waits on him hand and foot and helps with his Sonichu. He shares her interest in Star Wars (on VHS ONLY!) and helps her play her MMORPG.

Now usually when parents do this with their kids its because they no longer get on with each other and want a buffer zone of sorts.

Possible evidence in GK's case comes from remarks about how his dad is always working which sound like he's parroting his mother. He also mentions that his parents sleep in seperate rooms.

GK's dad is 63 so getting close to retirement. I'd venture that GK's mother would prefer him to be at home for the foreseeable future, and - consciously or unconsciously - has been working to keep him immature and dependent.

I don't know if his mother would be that happy. It was my understanding that mommy dearest was the person who got him the job.

if it was through friends it could make her look bad, then again him being there could have a worse effect. Chances are, though, he asked his mom before quiting.

actually, he sort of implied in some comments that he was unhappy with the amount of gas he was spending driving from place to place vrs the amount of pay he was getting, but I don't know if he meant commuting from home, or from tech job to tech job.

Well, there you have it folks! Actual work was just much too much.

And lo, our knightly hero did bravely face the trials and tribulations of honest labor. In truest knightly fashion, and a stunning display of chivalry, the quixotic crusader... turned tail and ran.

Oh hey. I've just been informed that TGK is no longer employed. He quit.

Jeez what a weenie! My job is much more physically involved that his was and I'm still there! In fact, I often get complimented for working hard even if I am slightly tired when my shift is over.
