To get the original models to port them into the Source engine, the modelers will dump them from the game; for example, Splatoon model porter Pinkolol had to buy the Japanese and European version of Splatoon 2 to dump the textures of the Splatfest Tee's region-specific textures legally (and didn't get credit ), taken from this post under the spoiler "Zeldaboy grooming accusations"
If you mean how people make their OCs like the screenshot below (which is taken from the OP), they usually install addons from the Steam Community Workshop for Garry's Mod or Source Filmmaker, depending on which one they want to use.

Look how glossy and sterile they look. Even a screenshot from the S1 weapon select menu looks infinitely more appealing.
It's because they make everything too bright and don't bother trying to make lighting look even close to the style of splatoon. putting a model in a fullbright ass situation like the one on the left in the source image is makes the more subtle baked in shading on the model around the forehead and nose and mouth much more prominent in a bad way.
I messed with the splatoon gmod shit when it was first added way back during splatoon 1 times and early-ish splatoon 2 times (doesn't feel like that long) and managed to get things looking good enough for one or two shitposts. it still wasn't as good as the in-game splatoon 1 lighting but it was closer than the things I've seen this "community" shart out. I think I posted one or two of them on here back then but like I'm too lazy to find the files and figure out which ones I sent here and which ones I sent to random people as reaction image memes in a ton of random places online. My point is making them look ok is doable but you need the right kind of lighting and post-process editing to do it.

FNAF fan here, in the lore the green eyes means Circus Baby is possessed by Elizabeth who is a minor. But also, 90% of the FNAF fandom draws her with green eyes regardless if she's possessed or not cause green eyes look better on the character, and nothing else changes about the character. No bodily changes, no childlike voice, it's literally just an eye color change in the lore. And I guess it also makes her evil.
And let's be honest, no pedophile is thinking "MAN I wanna jack off to kids! Hmm, I know! It was actually a pretty common gotcha back in 2023-2025, that mostly SJWs and teenagers they've groomed that are very well educated would use. Since then, the only (drama-related) things that were notable enough to put on said page was that back in 2024 he said something transphobic (A) and supposedly tweeted about sharing a Tweet for his friends who like "lolis and shotas" (Tweet has since been deleted, screenshot taken from a Reddit post (A) covering this).
LOL, I ran across him earlier and searched "Retro2Modern" on here to see why he was crying about being witch-hunted, but there weren't any results. Glad to see that's changed now!
Retro2Modern also happened to comment firmly against Schlep (A) regarding his most recent sting, which involved a pedophile who had lolicon on his phone. Considering his past initial defense of Heavy and the "sharing this for his friends who like loli and shota" Tweet, I am frankly not surprised.
When I first made the post on Stella's tweet telling people to unfollow Jazmyne that I referred to earlier in this post, I merely assumed it was just related to political differences (to put it simply, the majority of SplatSource seems to lean left) and didn't decide to investigate further. But after taking a look at the DeviantArt post, I thought it was worth making a post here. To TL;DR it:
FranciscoNoeSFM asked sivanhe if he could make something involving Vivi (sivanhe’s main OC that I presume “represents” her), so despite her not usually doing so she sends a Google Drive link to him
Later, sivanhe peruses Francisco’s profile, finds that he likes ships that “involve incest, with at least one of them involving a character who's underage,” and blocks his FranciscoNoeSFM DeviantArt account for that reason
Francisco then DMs sivanhe on both DeviantArt (on his FranciscoNoeLoud2004 account) and on Instagram, telling her that he’s very sorry and that his OC isn’t even shipped with Vivi (when that wasn’t even the reason he was blocked)
After blocking that alt and others, sivanhe thought she was done until she realized she was tagged in two posts of his:
A post he made using her ship meme (A), where in the description he apologies again and asks his fans to apologize to her for him (she interprets this as like a personal army request)
sivanhe accidentally unblocks him while looking at the second post, and decides to DM him telling him to stop using her OCs and trying to get around her block, which he seemingly accepts (and then supposedly powerlevels hard, which isn’t shown but she says she also told him off for that)
Later, sivanhe catches Francisco looking at her DeviantArt profile on both his FranciscoNoeSFM2 account (no screenshot) and his FranciscoNoeNSFWR18 account, which prompted sivanhe to both DM him to tell him to back off and make this callout post (and also reveal the alt accounts she knows of)
I took a look at the accounts listed in the last screenshot out of curiosity, and I noticed a few things:
FranciscoNoeNSFWR18 was actually deactivated by the time I got around to writing this part of this post, but I archived it as soon as I saw sivanhe’s DeviantArt post. Not really anything interesting on that account, but perhaps he nuked it to save face after being called out
Francisco did make an apology post (A), but he only apologizes for his interest in incest ships and nothing about using people’s OCs without permission or trying to get around sivanhe’s block, which were her biggest problems with him. It’s pretty clear he just wants the “drama” to end as fast as possible, with him thinking giving an apology will instantly make things right, which is not how things work.

I’d say that’s a pretty accurate assessment of the SplatSource community, as sivanhe unfortunately found out a few days ago. Since covering only one thing would make the post a little skint in my opinion, here are two other DeviantArt dramas I’d like to cover. Starting with the strange but seemingly less “bad,” Digitalgamerpro (who I covered in the Selfshipping / Yumeshipping thread for shipping himself with Melony from SMG4) was called out by Funnygirl1345 (coincidentally also covered in that same post from the Selfshipping Yumeshipping thread) for the following:
Shipping himself with a female OC who is 16 and calling her “mommy”
Still being on Discord after saying he was quitting
While I wouldn’t say what Digitalgamerpro did was good, I frankly think Funnygirl1345 is overreacting here. For something more horrifying to end off with, a while ago (November 2025), KalenSosa, now KKTheOctolingBoy, was exposed in a Google Doc (A, attached as a PDF titled “Agent115 Ghost and Kalen Toy Photography _ by Tyler and Squidd”). I find this interesting, mainly because I mentioned his post in the OP when talking about how a lof of people in SplatSource have autism:

Kalen’s part is (relatively) more interesting, with him having an NSFW section in his Discord server (shown in the YouTube video below, PizzaHyper shows up as well in the video) and crashing out on a friend in Discord DMs (I think due to “slandering” someone and talking to Omnidragonlion27, who I also talked about in this thread before), calling him a “beaner” and a “spice of shit” (I think a portmanteau of “spic” and “piece of shit”) after calling him racist earlier ()

The pedo claims are based on two things: Ryan was supposedly 19 when he met his then 15-year-old girlfriend, and Ryan supposedly dodged every question he was asked when asked if he was a pedophile. However:

Of course, since it’s a public Discord server, I decided to join when I saw Eternal Maxwell’s Tweet and see if these screenshots were legit. Spoiler alert: not only were they legit, but there’s even some more silly screenshots that I’ve been gathering over the past few days, mainly from the #vent channel:
AnimeGirlSplats complaining about AngelBylethSFM's Tweet about why he doesn't trust her, and her fans' response. Her fans also take issue with AngelBylethSFM using the word "tard" in his Tweet, and AnimeGirlSplats reveals that she stopped supporting him when he broke his promise to stop being suicidal.
AnimeGirlSplats fan Wizzkidd08 discovers Eternal Maxwell's archive channel and this very thread. After being asked to by Anja, Wizzkid08 proceeds to spam report Eternal Maxwell and later starts defending AnimeGirlSplats in AngelBylethSFM's comment section.
The day the server goes public, AnimeGirlSplats gets removed from the Splatoon Community on Twitter and blames AngelBylethSFM. Anja notes there is a Google Doc on AnimeGirlSplats, and her fans say that AngelBylethSFM "needs to be held accountable" for bringing up AnimeGirlSplat's past.
They get a little distracted by DF Show, an A-Log of AnimeGirlSplats who makes fake screenshots of her and her friends who probably keeps doing it because they give such extreme reactions to his low-effort obviously fake posts.
Someone realizes that somehow Eternal Maxwell has screenshots of inside this Discord server. WizzKid08 freaks out and starts accusing people of being spies, and later changes his profile to "anony2" temporarily to try to protect his identity (I think?), but that won't really work when only a few days later he changes back to his usual alias (last screenshot being taken as of making this post).
They talk about how drama negatively affects them physically, while GoobYT complains that Acheron1400 (someone associated with AngelBylethSFM) is calling him a goon; he talks with someone else about how AngelBylethSFM "needs medical help" and is "not cool" because of how he views AnimeGirlSplats, and later shows his progress on a YouTube Community Post "exposing" AngelBylethSFM and Acheron1400.
My favorite screenshot(s): while Ryan and Goob are talking about how old AngelBylethSFM is, Wizzkid08 (at the bottom of both the first and second screenshots they have the same content but were taken at different times) says that he was so anxious that his statements in a public Discord server were being screenshotted and reposted that he had to sleep with his mom at night over Internet drama
Goob makes a (now-deleted) YouTube Community Post "exposing" AngelBylethSFM (it was literally just a paragraph with no evidence) and asks for help in exposing AngelBylethSFM and his friends! Ryan.W, someone who AngelBylethSFM and his friend SamuelDrawings tried to expose in a frankly-somewhat-petty Google Doc, claims that cyberbullies will get in trouble for messing with people's hearts (ptimistic), while Goob starts complaining about the possible "leaker" (even though the server has been public ever since May 11). AnimeGirlSplats looks really hard at the user list but can't find any "haters," so Goob says that they need to prepare a plan to "get back at them".
This gets partially derailed because Anja (lowkey correctly) calls Goob a baby for overreacting in a different server, and AnimeGirlSplats tells both of them off and puts both of them in time out. Goob then blames AngelBylethSFM (who doesn't seem to have been involved at all), Xavnic correctly says it is Goob's fault, and Goob then accuses Xavnic of being "under control of Angelbylethsfm"

On May 14 (before the above video's release), AnimeGirlSplats loses another friend due to this drama, and Goob very maturely starts crying about Acheron1400 (now Silver Wolf) calling him a baby (A), so he tells the people in the server not to like and subscribe to her because "she's the devil"
AnimeGirlSplats suggests people share the Discord server around to help reduce drama in the Splatoon community, but her fans are worried that people "on Maxwell's side" will join to cause problems (little too late for that, considering how Maxwell seemingly has a person on the inside)
Later, AnimeGirlSplats made an announcement in that server to tell her fans to stop bringing up Eternal Maxwell or AngelBylethSFM (which is the correct move to make).
Since AnimeGirlSplats wisely did not put any restrictions in who can chat in the #announcements channel, this is immediately followed by one person, G7, claiming that one of those two is working with DF Show (a troll who makes obviously-fake screenshots of people), saying it was "confirmed" by Goob
But has AnimeGirlSplats actually enforced this rule? Surprsingly, yes; I noticed some messages were deleted, I presume due to them breaking that new rule based on AnimeGirlSplats's messages.

If there's one thing that's consistent about SplatSource, it's that there's always someone trying to do some erotic roleplay.
