How can something be long ago in the past while also in the distant future while simultaneously being in ancient times?

The context only makes it more confusing. In their cheesy lore its a alternate reality mirroring that of the original but in this one everyone was corrupted. No time travel in this one to my knowledge

This is just a technique used in writing, forgot what it's called.
It's like if I wrote: "I got burned by the ice and then froze in the fire", it would have a similar effect.
It's honestly kind of a cheap way to make your audience feel like you're deep without actually saying anything deep.

Gloryhammer is a lot like Dragonforce; the more you try to make sense of the lyrics/story the less you enjoy the music. Not that I enjoy any of their music since their previous lead singer left.
