and he's lame, his motivation is retarded and it doesn't feel like he ACTUALLY cares about releasing the people of Spira from despair by killing them all, he comes across as malicious, smug, and duplicitous even when explaining his actual motives.
He's an anti-natalist, of course he comes off that way. If Seymour was real he'd be posting on Reddit.

Anyone with experiences with romhacks? I was thinking about playing one of the 4-6 but wanted a hacked one that restores/removes the original text and if there is QoL, even better.

I don't like censorship and I know those games had it

The SNES FFs have a shitload of romhacks. I can't really point you to any specifically since I've never used any before, only browsed them on Vimm's Lair after the site mirrored all the hacks from Romhacking.net, but I'm pretty sure both IV and VI have patches that de-censor any visuals in the game. I know IV and VI have improved translation hacks, the former also reverting all the gameplay elements changed in localization back to how it worked in the Japanese version, but I don't think either one is a full retranslation trying to be autistically accurate but instead are just based off official translations from later rereleases. I think they all have bug fix patches, but again I can't really point to specifically. I know IV and V have sets of patches I downloaded made by a Japanese modder that fixes most bugs in those games, but the former definitely can't be used with an American rom and I'm not sure if you can use the latter with a translation patch or not.

But I don't think it counts really as hijacking the villain role at the end because it doesn't really change anything from a "narrative feel" perspective.
I didn’t stipulate that I don’t think. Though I guess I’ve said things like “replaces”. But really the phrasing I’ve used most is “tacked on” with hijacking being the most unambiguous way to do that.

In the same way Glass didn’t “hijack” Unbreakable but can’t be ignored either.

Alright tomorrow the mobile Dissida game comes out.

I can hear the groaning from here, but I think it looks cool and I'll try it out. If nothing else the FF characters shit posting each other looks like it's worth the price of admission.

I'll at least give it a shot. Though I have serious doubts that Dissidia can ever be good again.

I have no idea where else to complain about this but okay, for Final Fantasy V (5). It's one of my favorites and obviously there aren't too many fans of it since it didn't come to America until later and the first official translation was really bad.

But the fans of it that do exist, I find, are annoying spergs. Take Person A. Person A is obsessed with Krile, whom in my opinion was the weakest character (both as a fighter and just as a character). Okay, fine, whatever, everyone has their character choices. But she also INSISTS that Faris is genderfluid. Her description is, "Faris is a woman who was raised as a man, but in modern terms that would make her genderfluid."

No. In modern terms that would make her a woman who was raised as a man. She also threw a shitfit because I guess one of the Dissidia games affirmed that Faris was always a woman and feels like a woman or something.

Person B, who is friends with Person A, also insists that Bartz is bisexual because he was attracted to Faris when he thought she was a guy. Okay, so why isn't Galuf also bisexual since he also felt attraction to Faris when he thought she was a guy? Obviously neither of them are bi. That's retarded. The scene where they thought she was attractive was an obvious scene to clue us into her not being a man. It was an anime trope put into a video game.

But she got all butthurt because, "UMM ACKSHAULLY LGBT people have always existed in Final Fantasy???? The novelization of Final Fantasy II had Minwu be with some guy and then Bartz is bisexual!"

I find that my love of FFV now has died as a result. Because I keep associating it with these two spergs.

The novelization of Final Fantasy II had Minwu be with some guy
I read that novelization. Ming-Wu was just some old magician in it. There was nothing gay in that novel at all.

Most FFV spergs on the internet are just gameplay autists who replay it with challenge runs a lot, so it sounds like you're fans with the two faggiest FFV fans in existence.

Alright I've played Dissida. I like it, gameplay is actually much better then NT and surprisingly competitive with an even team. Controller is a must, you will not survive otherwise. Story is very charming.

There's just one really bad elephant in the room. The ADS!

You want a free metal pull? You want to play more then one ranked match? It's time for some commercials baby!

Its a pain too because I really like the gameplay and actual focus on strategy. They really need to port it to consoles like they did with Type O

I just finished playing The Ivalice Chronicles. Overall, it's my new favorite version of FFT. Showing the turn order on the battle screen instead of in a menu is such a huge convenience, on top of the fast load times.

The added dialogues are interesting. It's nice that Agrias and the others get to speak up once in a while after joining the party proper. I especially liked her and Mustadio's interjections when fighting alongside Delita in chapter 4. The Lucavi dialogues make a pretty big change to the story, but it does tie things together a bit more and keeps the interesting human characters' motives in the spotlight.

Dissida season 1 cute fluff, everyone hanging out and doing funny shit.

Season 2 all hell breaks lose, civilians start getting killed in the streets, the WOL light loses his shit over discord chat

I gotta say they completely blindsided me by revealing that the villain is
. The space kid

Also having promto fire his gun right next the toddler from FFV was very amusing

Has anyone played Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light? The merchant class completely breaks the game if you have enough money. You can one-shot superbosses and functionally render yourself immune to damage.
